That Beat article isn't really surprising me with new information, but having it all in one place is great.
If there's two things I'd like from DC going forward, it's this:
1.) Just create Ultimate DC. All of this could've been avoided if you'd done that. You keep trying to "rejuvenate" these characters when in reality all that's needed is good stories, but if you want a continuity free version, that can be done in a separate universe.
2.) Bring back all the characters you got rid of, and restore continuity to normal. There wasn't anything wrong with all the side kicks and family, that's why you read DC to begin with. This doesn't mean follow a storyline from 2007, it just means these characters all know one another and this isn't the first time everyone's met.
I dunno. That Beat article sound like an OT thread in points, like someone with a grudge laying out the events who wasn't even reading the comics.
How many female characters have really been "Fridged and sidelined" in the recent past? I wouldn't characterize this Year of the Villain era with that.
I'm no more well informed than I have been reading bits of BC on it.
Well, Bleeding Cool frequently calls things well in advance, so that's still pretty informed. At some point ya'll gotta stop caping for Dan. He did some good stuff, but he was responsible for some bad stuff too, and this idea that Heidi MacDonald of all people would be wrong about it when: A.) It's Heidi MacDonald, and B.) Dan Didio is indeed gone, is weird. Like, he had enough successes interspersed with the problems to keep him around until WB finally had enough.
