I'm gonna say that's probably BS. If Rockstar have changed their dev method to all hands on deck for each game rather than individual studios handling their own projects then considering RDR2 released less than a year ago, I'm skeptical we'll see a new game from them for at least 3 years.

Even if there was extensive pre-production during RDR2's cycle and the game was smaller in scope than the likes of a GTA, modern Rockstar don't strike me as the kind of developer who would get this done so fast.

How often do Rockstar rumors even end up being true? It seems like there are a ton of them, but I really can't think of any that's actually turned out to be real.

I would love a new Bully game but not only does it seem like the worst time to release a game like that (children hurting children) but I feel like Rockstar themselves don't give too much stock into the IP

Honestly I believe it. We've had rumors for this game for like a year now. I'm probably being hopeful but I just want a bully 2 dammit

Never finished original but loved it. I really hope they make a new one. The vibe, setting and humor were fun and I hope it maintains that atmosphere

Never. Even one of the biggest leaks with RDR2 and the NeoGAF map was questioned on its validity all the way up to release. lol

The only other big RDR2 leak came from stolen documents.

I mean, sure like any news it could be fake, but... why do people think it's impossible? We live in a world where Nier's surprise sequel happened and became a major hit, Shenmue 3 is coming to fruition, and Beyond Good and Evil 2, a game that originally bombed and barely anyone played, is getting a mega budget sequel. What makes a sequel to Bully, a game dear to Rockstar's own head honchos, so fucking impossible for some of you?

Hey... just saying

This is in the GTA V Casino Update
I made a thread a while back but nearly everyone thought it was some random easter egg. Why would you put a random easter egg in such a prominent new update, an update that everyone playing this was waiting for and has apparently has pulled in the most players since forever? This isn't one obscure easter egg meant to be lost in a huge game at launch for players, this is a deliberate hint in an obvious place Rockstar wants people to look.

It's not impossible that R* is making Bully 2. But I really doubt it comes out a mere 2 years after RDR2. We know they were all hands on deck with that game and their release schedule doesn't lead me to believe in such a quick turnaround.

And I doubt we hear anything about what R* is making next until we get a PC port of RDR2

I mean Bully 2 would be a side game. They puffed up RdR2 because they wanted it to the next GTA5. This wouldn't have that scale or budget. Plus RDR was stuck in dev hell for years, and GTAV struggled with late generation hardware issues. Assuming devolpment is going well, and it doesn't get cancelled, thinking a publisher with mutiple studios could release more than 1 game a generation shouldn't be unrealistic.

Rockstar is a such an enigmatic company with so many employees/studios and so many projects rumored to be happening on and off, such erratic release schedules/reveals (1 game in a generation doesn't set a pattern) I don't think it's safe to say we really know what their schedule or production timeline is like. They say they were all hands on deck but that happened gradually, they weren't all hands on deck for the entire development time. Who knows how much work already went into bully 2 before and during RDR2? We know that Rockstar has been working on multiple projects forever, and I feel like some of these will see the light of day sooner than later.

The other thing to remember is Bully 2 is probably much smaller a game than RDR 2, and will benefit from all the groundwork laid by RDR2. Many of RDR2's systems already feel akin to Bully... A much smaller game with the same manpower behind RDR2, building on the foundations of it, seems like it could come out pretty quick.

However! You brought up something I didn't consider, and that is the release of RDR2 on PC. It does seem like it would kill the hype and steal the spotlight if Bully 2 was announced. But then again, there's nothing stopping them from announcing and releasing RDR2 on PC before Bully 2 hits...

"4NAD" morse code wild guesses:
November 4th Announcement that it will be December (2020)
4(for) November Announcement (2019) of a December launch (2020).
4 November Announcement Date (of Bully 2).
4 Nearing Announcement Date

My uncle works at Rockstar and he gave me an exclusive screenshot of the Bully 2 main character. Seems legit.

I doubt it's true. But man, I would love to see a sequel to Bully.

Seems unlikely. Wasn't Rockstar all in on RDR2? Who had the bandwidth to develop it?

I remember when the RDR 2 map leaked like years before the game even got revealed. Pretty much everoyne thought it was fake (especialyl because Saint Denis was originally called New Bourdeaux which is also in Mafia 3).

Then it turned out to be real!

Sometimes it can actually happen.

I think the "all rockstar studios worked on rdr2" thing doesn't mean that they all worked on it for 7 years straight. I mean gta online updates came out on a regular basis too.
