Chris Avellone is wrapping up work on Respawn’s Fallen Order (also teases another project)

His involvement is great news for hardcore Star Wars fans. Avellone really gets the lore. He did a deep dive into Star Wars when he was doing KOTOR II, which has a very sophisticated take on the dynamics and morality of the universe. He's written some Star Wars comics too.

Gives me a good feeling about the game.

I hope he does another collab with Subset Games like Into the Breach. Its premise and dialogue are really tight and there's something exciting about seeing Avellone write small rather than sprawling.

Preordering in general is a dubious practice consumers should be wary of. Preordering an unannounced game is downright insane,even more so given Bethesda's recent track record.

Writers dont need to be there once the main core is done. He can possibly have done most of the story guideline and now the story and gameplay elements are finished but the game is not.

Edit:For instance, otherwise he wouldnt be able to work in so many project simultaneously.

That job post seems to indicate he was a contractor on the project for about 2 years and 8 months. (April 2016 to December 2018). The development cycle for a typical AAA game is 3-4 years. Depending on when he joined the project, the VTMB? could be releasing later this year. In which case the game is likely content complete and they're in the polishing stage.

Don't expect Kotor 2. This is a big budget game with Disney behind the scenes. The best things about kotor 2 would never happen under their watch

Also i'd hosnetly be more excited if Mitsoda was the writer on a VtM game than Avellone
