Julien Bardakoff voiced him in a few of the early N64 era games (Mario Kart 64 Japanese release, Mario Party 1 and 2, Mario Kart Super Circuit). How many games have there been where he's voiced Mario but hasn't also voiced Luigi?
If he doesn't that's some straight-up bullshit. He's done lengthy dialogue as Mario before.Do we know if he'll be voicing Mario for the animated movie? His representation is pretty iconic, so even if his name isn't well-known outside of gaming circles, I think people would be thrown off if his voice isn't the one that Mario has.
Recording for the movie would be a nice evolution of his Mario career.
I don't think anyone necessarily had it before, but more that there wasn't a record at all.
It's going to be so weird when he retires and someone else has to play Mario
They'd probably just reuse voice clips at that pointIt's going to be so weird when he retires and someone else has to play Mario
That's fair
It's going to be so weird when he retires and someone else has to play Mario
Does he actually record new lines for every game? How many times does he need to step into a studio and say "Wahoo"?
Well, he didn't start voicing Mario until just before the N64 era in an educational spinoff, so he missed a lot of the early stuff. He's probably voiced Mario in just about every game he's appeared in since, but 100 games is a lot even if you are Mr. Video Game himself.
The Geico Gecko.I can't think of one character or actor who approaches they level of Mario or Martinet.
How so? Reuben Langdon, who has voiced Dante for 13 years now, has about a dozen total appearances. Taking a look at a more mainstream character like Nathan Drake, Nolan North has maybe six appearances as the character in twelve years (5 mainline titles and Playstation All Stars). Going outside the realm of gaming, Robert Downey Jr. has ten appearances as Tony Stark in just as any years. I can't think of one character or actor who approaches they level of Mario or Martinet.
Indeed he does. Each and every "Wahoo!" is its own unique and beautiful snowflake.
Same deal as Ikue ĹŚtani and Pikachu. "Pika pika!"

100 sounds like too many. I sure as shit can't list 100 games with Mario's voice in it. There's only so many main games, sports games, etc he's in.
And for Ultimate to coincidently be his 100th? What?
I THINK IT'S A CONSPIRACY.

That's a shitload, and basically everything after Mario 64 counts.
