Cathedral - 8bit metroid style game releasing next month on Steam/GOG

Anyone heard about this? Just noticed it popped up on gog, has that NES-on-steroids aesthetic that's quite popular these days. Look pretty awesome, will pick it up unless the gameplay/level design sucks.

Oh man, this looks fantastic and very Shovel Knight-inspired. The music in that trailer is stupendous. If this was on Switch or another console I'd be all over it, but looks like I'll have to wait for now. Perhaps someday...

Apparently he's using a tool called FamiTracker so the game sounds mostly like what would have been possible with a VRC6 game such as the famicom version of 'vania 3.

Thanks for reminding me, the halloween sale knocked all the new games off the top of GOG.

If you wanna be picky about it the main character looks sprite to detailed to be 8bit like a NES game, PC Engine hybrid 8/16bit maybe. Looks very shovel knight like.

I think it's definitely worth that price, I liked it.
