And it's good. Not every Resident Evil game needs an anime action hero.
I'm still waiting for the twist that Ethan is actually a Wesker or something. The fact they don't even show his face is very suspicious. 🤔
Video game protagonists don't get more iconic than Ethan Winters. Can't wait to play as him... again.
Even capcom forgot that we actually do get brief looks at Ethan's face in RE7.
They both do. I don't know why they're even bothering continuing the Ethan storyline.

It's called an audience surrogate. And it's better then the garbage trash anime characters they turned Chris and Leon into.
He's meant to be just a vessel for the character to insert themselves into. Was one of the design decisions when going first person.
Makes sense he would be some by product of the Wesker children.
Laughing at people who don't get the point that Ethan is supposed to be boring and the "everyman", and that the whole point is that an ordinary person against the odds is infinitely more interesting than most Resident Evil superheroes.

You know all those early RE games that weren't action that had all those characters people liked and were interesting? Two f which were recently remade?
But no it's because action RE fans are bitter.
