Need to make about 4mil i guess as thats how much G version sold when its on nintendos platform
What would you consider a high retention if 1/4 in a week is terrible?
But thats LTD numbers and capcom just sold more than half of that in a week and thats not including future PC sales.Need to make about 4mil i guess as thats how much G version sold when its on nintendos platform
This is humongous for a G version...That's terrible retention (and/or awareness of the release) unless it picks up rapidly, but you'd think an expansion would be far more front-loaded.
No that's everything.

Curious what other game/expansion metrics are you comparing it to?
The series has sparked a social phenomenon known as the "Monster Hunter Craze"
Pretty much.No large dev would put out a sales update this quick without being happy/confident in the numbers.
You haven't heard of MONSTER HUNTER CRAZE™? I think this says more about you, Seraphis Cain, than it does about this well-established social phenomena :PI love Monster Hunter but lol I have never heard this phrase before today. PR speak sure is a thing.
I meant it is a thing during japan when MHP1 added the fuel and mhp2/2g lit it up. They are technically correct lol.I love Monster Hunter but lol I have never heard this phrase before today. PR speak sure is a thing.

Yea my bad. Only went of their earlier posts. But this shit happens far too often in MH threads.
Not really? 4G did like 2m+ within first week in Japan alone
Luckily your comment helps the discussion in a meaningful way and isn't inflammatory at all. Well played! It's always the people with Nintendo avatars that are trying to downplay anything related to MHW's sucess the most.
Always.
It wasn't Capcom that said that.Gonna buy the expansion later this month, great news on the salesnumbers.
Remember the days when people laughed when Capcom said they could sell 10 million.
That was Enterbrain's president that said that in a weekly article on Famitsu.Remember the days when people laughed when Capcom said they could sell 10 million.
Numbers may be impressive but what he wrote is factually incorrect, unless you start adding DLC numbers to original game numbers. Most of that number is apparently digital, and the digital version is DLC only.
Sorry, missed it, only looked at the thread.

You got any evidence to support that statement? This would be almost double if they weren't so stupidly keen on delaying pc version.
I'll leave it up for posterity but suffice, I was being stupid:

I never said it wasn't, doesn't mean you don't have ways to fix something like that, we're not talking about some indie company. You got any evidence to support that statement?
I thought the delay in the PC release was due to a lack of resources.
Probably Reaper of Souls. According to Google it sold 2,7 millions in one week. But Diablo 3 is one of the best selling PC games of all time. This is incredible.
I don't know if we've ever gotten expansion sales numbers this impressive just one week after release.
we are talking about shipped #
He already admitted that he was off....I think it's okay to let that one go now xDThat's the same argument idiots use to say "well x game sold 10 million units but on a console of 100 million units that's a failure!"
