Capcom has updated both the CEO and COO messages in its " Management Policy " Section , in the COO Message , inside it he went to talk about the PC Platform in a very positive way for a Japanese Developer

また、デジタル戦略推進の観点では、PCプラットフォームの普及拡大も見逃せません。当社主要タイトルにおけるPC版の販売比率も年々向上しており、重要プラットフォームとして一層の販売拡大に努めます。

Which is Google translated to

Also, from the viewpoint of promoting digital strategy, expansion of PC platform spread can not be overlooked. The sales ratio of the PC version in our main title has been improved every year, and we will strive to further expand sales as an important platform.

As mainly a PC gamer and a fan of Capcom , this is pleasing to hear

Here is the Full COO Message

Edit : Crazy we went from Christian Svensson ( Capcom former North and South American vice president of strategic planning in late 2000's early 201X's ) Fighting to convince Capcom Japan to distribute PC ports as Capcom Japan had Piracy concerns into the COO himself praising the platform and striving to expand in it

We tried to tell them... Glad their "sales data" has finally caught up with common sense.

Nice, I buy most Capcom games on PC when they're available at launch. I did buy the late, underwhelming MHW port on PC, but I haven't put in much time as my main save is on PS4 Pro and the PC version is ever behind on content.

Imagine that, putting serious effort into a platform instead of cheap test games will yield results... I for one am dumbfounded such a bold strategy would ever work out.

It's kind of amazing how much has changed in just one generation. The 7th generation was not the kindest to PC gaming now it is getting bigger and bigger.

Considering they've been releasing all their new games on PC, I dont see how they can improve support ... Well save for day abd date MH.

But if you want to, here's 3 to 4 things to release...
GHOST TRICK
God Hand
Asura's Wrath
Viewtiful Joe

Did I say GHOST TRICK ????

The main reason here is related to Steam bringing a unified backend for PC games and turning what was once a wasteland of broken features and stuff into a solid ecosystem.

I'm not a PC gamer but I gather both MHW and RE2 sold well on PC yes? Good to see them supporting it more, Capcom is slowly becoming a beast again.

Really disappointed when they made that announcement. I was hoping by now we would have caught up with the console version and everything would be synced up.

Also bring DDO west.

Sadly, I believe that ship has sailed. The best we can hope for at this point is that Itsuno will make Dragon's Dogma 2 next with integrated co-op elements.

Yeah it's just an absolutely baffling decision to me. That game as a free to play on Steam with a decent monitization model would have been a hit.

For MHW , Capcom said that the majority of Last Quarter ( From 1 Oct to 31 Dec ) sales were from the PC version and keep praising it as the main drive force for the games numbers recently since the PC Release

While for RE2 , Peak concurrent players for RE2 on Steam was x4 of RE7 and the difference between them in overall sales ( consoles + PC ) in the same period ( first 4 days ) were 500K for RE2 , So of course the PC Ratio here is bigger than RE7

Yet some people still argue that some decision regarding PC ports ( or lack of ) are obviously wise business decision made by people who know better than us, cf many atlus threads.

I love that. "If it was a good idea commercially they'd do it". As if humans or companies always worked that way.

They must have lost it when they saw MHW's sales on a average port that was 6~ months late. Happy to see the platform ever expanding.

Imagine if they bothered to bring demos for their games to PC as well.
The demo is what sold me on Resident Evil 2, meanwhile I'm passing on Devil May Cry 5 and Monster Hunter World until I can either try them, or pick them up real cheap.

I really hope they will bring more of their back catalogue to PC as well.
I'd love a proper port of Breath of Fire 3-5, but who knows if they have the assets and stuff anymore.

Still, the MonHun delay situation is pretty lame.

The worst thing about the monster hunter DLC is that there is not even a release timeline except "later". I am not gonna take the MHW situation and tie it to the rest of Capcom's overall PC strategy as that game is clearly the outlier among their recent efforts but boy did they really drop the ball there.

Good to hear that Capcom sees the PC as a key area but then again I think they always have, even during those lean years they were the only Japanese devs even putting out PC ports on the regular. Maybe not day and date but they'd come eventually; Capcom are Japanese PC game OGs. Theirs and From's games are the only ones I even bother to day one anymore.

Now just don't start eyeing the Epic store(or rather don't go full exclusive with them) and get Godhand ported to the PC and we're good.
