It's more effective to do both. When people get banned for bad faith arguments the "well I just wanted to have a rational discussion" route is the first one taken. The explanation provides evidence that they were given the information and ignored it to continue arguing in bad faith (it's really hard to argue that they weren't when their stance was so flimsy that it could be definitively disproven and they kept going), hence the ban. Helps with getting rid of the belief that the mods are ban happy and won't let you get your point across because it becomes apparent that it was never what you cared about.
That is such a strange stance to take.
Owens calls to watch the original 2 hour clip. I'm assuming watching such a clip will still make us see her point as bad but I guess she's hoping no one really watches it since it's 2 hours long and assume it vindicates her because she says so? I don't want to watch a 2 hr clip to see if she makes any sort of sense.

An attractive young Black woman proclaiming there is no racism problem in America and that the Right isn't racist at all, is like the most worthwhile display I can imagine for the Right. They don't actually care about proceedings, they just want to push their rhetoric.

It's frankly fucking disgusting that there is a thriving group of radical imbeciles willing to swallow Candace Owens' defense of fascism, as if it's not IMMEDIATELY and ABUNDANTLY CLEAR within that quote and in the greater context of that conversation that she was saying that Nazi Germany's horrific crimes against humanity, both within its borders and without, can be neatly separated from its insurgent nationalism and blamed squarely on some chimeric, anachronistic "nazi globalism," as if the axis powers and Nazi Germany in particular weren't formed in large part due to opposition of the internationalist agendas of the western powers and the encroaching threat of global socialist revolution.
