I miss when Donkey Kong was treated as one of Nintendo's flagship franchises. I imagine this game would have been a lot of fun.

Rockstar's Agent. Formally announced, never formally cancelled, and the most they've shown so far is a logo.

It's still listed as coming to the PS3.

Slightly OT but for some reason in the last couple of months I thought Agent was a Square Enix property and it just kinda rolled into Hitman. Didn't realize it was Rockstar Games

Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned

Love or hate the PotC later movies, it's a universe that screams for a game that isn't a book report, but its own story with your own PC.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

I don't think it will happen since Ancel was sent to a farm in the country

I think Cry On's cancellation still stings because at the time I was just so freaking ready for more Mistwalker games after playing Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey like... one right after another.

Prey 2 was another one. I mean I bought "Prey," but Prey 2 always sounded more interesting to me (one day I'll actually play the new Prey game... maybe, lol).

It was only months away from release... 22 years later still stings lol.
Whoa, I never knew about this. Gonna have to do some research on it.

Yeah.
Oh damn. I remember the one kickstarter thingy they were doing. I honestly didn't pay much attention to it though. I didn't know they did two.
I did not know about all this shit, though. Wow.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Crazy

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Crazy was a planned installment of the Super Monkey Ball series. It was cancelled before its final release. The game was rumored to be announced at E3 2003, and that it would be released in 2004. It was widely believed to have allowed for LAN support, allowing...

18 years later and we still don't have a proper Super Monkey Ball 3.

All of this is specifically why I never understood the hype for Sadness. I get people were extremely thirsty for more "hardcore" Wii games at the time and a black and white horror game was a novel and original concept for the time, but we never saw any footage or even a screenshot. It's pretty obvious that half the actions done by the player wouldn't have actually been in the game and the others would have probably felt terrible with the OG Wii motion controls. Again though I do understand people just wanting a new horror game for the Wii so I imagine people put more hopes on Sadness than they should have. I don't get hyped for CG trailers or trailers without gameplay before I know what the gameplay is going to be though so it's a bit harder for me to relate.
The one bit I remember being detailed was that you held a torch in your hand and could use it to influence the world, swinging it at rats to clear a path, etc. It seemed like a reasonable marriage of the system's form factor with the genre.

If the Deus Ex that we aren't getting counts as cancelled, that one. Everything else is far enough in the past.

Actually, Van Buren too.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Sadness, Scalebound, Star Wars 1313. The sad thing is Versus XIII was my dream FF, mature and melancholic vibe and Scalebound was probably my dream game, the combination of Kamiya, action combat and a fucking dragon, I would buy a Xbox just for this.

P.S: Lost Soul Aside is yet to be cancelled, but I'm losting hope :(

The game that Microsoft teased at E3 2013 developed by Black Tusk before they became The Coalition. Had a Splinter Cell like vibe to it.

I believe it was code-named "Shangheist". Though I believe that Phil Spencer once said that TC could back to do it at any time. But I also remember Matt Booty saying that if TC wants to branch-out of Gears, they could "have that conversation".

Since Prey 2 and a few others I'd call out were already mentioned, I'm going to mention the Phantom Dust remake/sort of sequel. I was so excited for them to give that IP/game a new chance and I'm bummed about how that whole thing apparently went down behind the scenes.

I was disappointed with this at the time, and I recall it being a case of pretty rotten studio management, but on the plus side this and Scalebound saved me the price of an Xbox One.

Picassio.

I love heist movies so the idea of a Thomas Crown Affair styled stealth/heist game was something I was super stoked for.

Sleeping Dogs 2 will always hurt, though it didn't get too far.

Replaying through L.A. Noire has gotten me really into the idea of whatever Agent was going to be.

Almost everything I was thinking of already got posted, so only other one that comes to mind is Coded Arms Assault. Probably was a good reason to cancel it, but still was going to check it out since I enjoyed the PSP game. Just weird that they seemed to put a lot of effort in the presentation.

It was only a teaser, but it hyped me a lot for some reason. I remember being super mad when it got cancelled.

I'm surprised no one had mentioned Campo Santo's 'In the Valley of Gods'.
