Do you think the biggest first party game will outsell PS4, and the biggest third party game will outsell PS5 in Japan? (physical software only)

For reference, the highest selling Monster Hunter games in Japan have been Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (PSP) at 4,840,930 and Monster Hunter 4 (3DS) at 3,591,334. Animal Crossing is already the best selling Animal Crossing game by over a million units. The best selling game ever in Japan is Pokemon Red/Green/Blue (GB) at 7,936,360.

If you believe Monster Hunter won't be the highest selling Switch third party game, than that's fine, you can replace it with whatever you think may be. For reference, the best selling Dragon Quest game is Dragon Quest IX (NDS) at 4,402,263.

are you comparing the sales of switch video game releases to playstation hardware sales? i don't understand how they're comparable.

Why is everyone here so obsessed with Nintendo vs PlayStation specifically in Japan, a territory that is very important to one but not the other?

Again, PlayStation left Japan for a reason

Why would anyone be interested in knowing how much a game on platform A outselling consoles B and C.
