I'm saying it's worthwhile to frame it from their perspective. As game developers, they may want to make a product that the audience will enjoy, they want to craft an experience that creates certain feelings, they want you to have a lasting relationship with their franchise, they want the franchise to be successful, they want people to appreciate their characters, they want to be respected within their industry.
I suspect that what you want is going to interact with those interests. So even if you don't personally care about what Nintendo gets, you can make a stronger case by looking from that perspective and saying "here's what's in it for you if you do this".
