So after getting tired of the shitty spawns in MP me and a buddy decided to try Zombies. It was hella fun and we were both up to about rank 7 or 8 when I notice my calling card in the lobby says I'm only level 2.

Then I notice that none of the items I should have unlocked are unlocked. When I hit start the progress bar says I'm level 8. Weird. I'll restart to fix it.

Restart and it puts me back at level 2.

This game is a steaming pile of shit. I want my money back.

Awwww yea! Picked this up because... I dunno, I sort of had to given that it's on the Blizzard launcher and, like... why not.

As expected, I'm doing horrible in it. First blackout game I died quick, second I made it into 7th place by hiding the whole time, killing no one, then being killed by the blue ring while I was driving a scout RV car around.

First free for all deathmatch I got a grand total of... wait for it... one kill! Hell yea, K/D of .07!

For what it's worth, this is about what I expected and I'm ok with it. I used to be absolutely amazing at PC first person shooters about... 12 years ago. I'm slightly older now (though not that old, I'm 34) so my declining skills are to be somewhat expected (though I'm still amazing at Overwatch with a number of the classes), I guess I'm just surprised that there (so far, very early) doesn't seem to be anyone else sharing the bottom of the barrel with me. The next closest dude in my FFA match was at like a .5 K/D ratio, and that's really good.

What? Just keep playing and you'll get better. Few people jump into an FPS and do amazing. Plus BO4, with how the servers are right now, is not the best benchmark for your supposedly declining skill.

I don't know why but Control and specifically control just makes me unbelievably salty in this game. There is just something about that mode that just makes me so angry nearly every time I play it. I've had to just turn the game off and take a break a few times. lol

So yeah every time I play Zombies it just resets me to level 2, I can't level past 2 no matter what I do. I'm playing on PS4. Does anyone know what is causing this? It's really shitty that I basically can't play Zombies.

Oh, I mean, yea, of course! Mind you, I'll never be great at Blops, but, again, that's totally fine! I obviously want to be as good as I can be in games, but certain games I'll just never be great at these days. I'm damn good at Overwatch, pretty bad at Destiny 2, and terrible at COD games, and that's all good!

I mainly enjoy posting about how bad I'm doing to throw a counterpoint to most posters in threads like these who only want to post when they do really, really well. I honestly find that kind of lame, so I want to be a counterpoint. It's ok to post about how terrible you are!

I would much rather watch a video of someone going .2 KDR than someone going 4.5 KDR. Don't just post videos of you doing great people! Post videos of you doing terrible as well! The video that you throw up so everyone can know how great you are? Not interested in the least.

Managed to win my first game of BR tonight.

Quite a bit of weirdness in the clip, and it helps me think about how I might get better.

1) Not sure why I shot the downed player, it was a waste of time. There's not much chance he was going to get revived, so I could have easily been killed doing this.

2) At the 16 second mark the game randomly throws me in front of the cover I was standing behind. Super weird and would be incredibly frustrating if it got me killed.

3) Accuracy was terrible on the final kill. I knew what I wanted to do (jump and headshot him) but I didn't expect to land on the top of the ledge.

Still, I'll take it. It took us about 5 matches of duos to get a win.

For a boots on the ground CoD, its amazing how much time some players spend in the air jumping around corners.

I know its a valid technique and it works, but it still looks stupid watching players come jumping around every corner.

Too many advantages not to do it.
  • If you sprint around a corner, there's a delay before you can ads, this isn't true when jumping, allowing you to sustain momentum
  • Jumping has potential to throw off the aim of anyone that's fixated on the corner.
  • Jumping moves you faster, which really takes advantage of the 'shooters advantage' style netcode
  • Jumping often wins out if it turns out there's someone right on the other side of the corner. It's really disorientating to have someone jump next to you at near point blank range.
Sliding then jumping is also a great option.

I completely understand it's valid. My criticism is that it just looks stupid. It's so prevelant that it almost seems like jumping should decrease your accuracy or prevent aim down sights. I mean look at your list; there's no reason not to do it apparently.

The reason not to do it is that it's a big commitment and it doesn't offer any cover. So if you jump around a corner then you better know where someone is likely to be, and know whether the room/area contains any headglitching spots. If you dive into a room where your opponent is expecting you, and has good cover, then you probably won't win the encounter anyway.

I love that awareness is like the worst perk in the game because of how bad the sound design is but then somehow awareness makes it sound as if people who are two miles away from you are literally right in top of you. It's so stupid.

So far the most amusing thing for me is that every time I get a strike team, thresher, and attack helicopter and use them all at the start of round 2, everyone always quits the game. No integrity, it gets boring sometimes but it's always hilarious. Just now I got the streaks twice in one round and we cycled through like 4 enemy parties that would join and just quit. Whenever someone stays I make sure to applaud them and give them the respect they deserve.

I met a clan last night that was throwing insults and expletives at me the whole match because I was shooting down all their killstreaks. My team still lost in the end but oh was it satisfying getting that clan mad lol.

Said it before(as many others have) and will say it again, snipers are broken on PC. Might be the one thing that leads me to dropping the game. It's extremely unfun to go against 3-4 snipers every single game. Can't blame the people either as it just too effective not to. This is coming from someone with an average K/D of 2.1 as well, so it's not like i'm some scrub getting wrecked and complaining. I can hold my own just fine, it's just tiring. Tried the can't beat em join em approach and even as a casual sniper as long as you have decent aim you just dominate.

When a map that is entirely CQC comes up such as Frequency or one of the snow ones(forget the name) and the majority of players are still running snipers. surely something is off.

Unrelated to above, besides running away is there a way to defeat the specialist with the shield? Doesn't seem to have any hit box what so ever but running away feels dumb when the thing lasts as long as it does.
Hey, I agree. There's no way to say it without sounding scrubby but sniping is SO easy in this game and it doesn't help that the paladin is the very first sniper. So sniper kids get a taste of being god very early. Why wouldn't they stick with the gun that's a literal laser that one shot kills from the chest up and doesn't even force you out of ADS to load bullets or anything UGH....it fucking sucks when you're against it and it seems like fighting fire with fire is the only solution. Luckily I've had way fun and fair matches than bullshit sniper fests but the number of snipers per game is increasing imo. They need to nerf that shit before the game stales out for PC players

I can recommend you the videos of Goblin and Tyger on YouTube. They give you pretty good strategy tips.

I played Blops 3 before, but Blops 4 is my first boots on the ground cod and it plays a bit different. On the release weekend I was constantly at about .3 to .5 k/d in TDM. Now I'm rarely under 1.0. mostly I'm between 1.5 and 1.8... sometime I even manage to be a bit over 2.0. Watch their videos and try to adopt their tips, they are really helpful.

The dual SMGs are absolutely bananas. The TTK is almost instant if you are close range and you hardly have to worry about aiming.

Teamed up last night with Xater and we kept getting soooo close to that duo win in Blackout. Multiple #2 and #3 finishes where we got unlucky at the end. We'll get there. Best moment? A lenghty quad chase where I was driving and crashing into a guy escaping on a quad, while he tried to shoot him down. He managed to do so, but then someone sniped him. Ultimately I ran for my life.

At this point I barely even bother playing with randoms. 90% of the matches I end up alone in the first minute, may as well play solo if I want to go lonely wolf.

Got my 5th solo win tonight. A few quick tips for those interested.

-I always have a standard assault rifle except for the rampart which has too much kick for me

-silence my weapons whenever I can except for snipers. ABR decked out and silenced is extremely effective and my current favorite

-skulkers, dead silence, awareness and sensor darts are deadly for the final few players. Especially in open scenarios which is 90% of end circles. Try to save em if you can.

-strategic play > aggressive play: agressive tends to help in the beginning to middle where the goal is building a load out. Once you have good gear and there's 15 people left, dial it back prepare to use everything at your disposal in a strategic way. Not even XxMLG420noscopeProXx is gonna beat you if you creep up with skulker, awareness and drop two 9-bangs on him

-don't be afraid to engage enemies and explore. Be strategic, not afraid. If you make it to the final 10 with just one kill, and 3 buildings you looted along the way, the guy with 6 kills has built an entire loadout from a selection 6x your size or more. Hope you manage to sneak up behind him!

-don't forget to use vehicles. One match the first circle opened at the turbine while I was near wear coast. I hopped on a quad and drove my ass across the entire map immediately. Continued building my loadout there. I watched the match in theater, and the circle placement caught the vast majority of players off guard. While they scrambled to keep moving i was comfortably gearing up. It was a big factor in winning

Last night while playing Blackout I went down to the bunker area of Nuketown, it was pretty creepy with all the dolls hanging around. One of the players hid there and I nearly shat myself when they opened fire on me.

Oh, met a guy last night on Xbox One who managed to kill in a helicopter in like 30 seconds in a match (no easy feat in TDM), then kept spamming all kinds of pointstreaks for most of the 2-3 matches we've been in the lobby. Shooting him would always result in hitmarkers but a high percentage of them would not damage him. It's as if he had 500 health or something, ridiculously hard to kill even when still. Checked his profile and, to no surprise, it was a fresh 0G profile. I really hope MS still bricks consoles and not just ban accounts, because this is quite clearly a secondary account of someone used to test some exploits/hacks.

So I got the operator mod for the Titan and slapped it on. Says it suppresses people I shoot at. I have no idea what this effect looks like on the receiving end, but I was able to take out enemy snipers who were shooting at me with ease. Probably just a placebo but it seemed like they were having way more trouble than usual. Need to try it out some more tonight.

This makes sense because a friend I was in a party with last night swears he was in a game against a guy who was spamming pointstreaks right from the beggining of the game. Apparently there were so many uav's and counter Uav's in air that he couldn't shoot them all down.

ok, last 3 games were awful on PS4, rubberbanding, lags and now "session no longer available"

slowly but surely these problems are getting on my nerves, sometimes i think we are playing an early access title for fullprice

It's indeed surprisingly janky for a COD game. Yesterday all my play sessions had to be tried 2-3 times before they went through. In Blackout we couldn't join each other until we rebooted the game. In multiplayer the first matchmaking sessions would always get us back to the menu. There's plenty of issues, no doubt.

Been trying the vapr with silencer and rapid fire and.. Meh, hit mark central. I feel like silencers in this game destroy any range a gun has, with a high TTK, I don't know if any gun is worth using on on.

Even in a series that is notorious for its dogshit gun balance, the dual saugs takes it to a different level. How does that actually make it into the game.

They have a bigger ppol of items to choose from, some extra perks, more equipment and so on. They are not necessarily better. I'd argue that a high level player with all unlocks on the same weapon has more chances of beating a guy with no attachments on the same gun for obvious reasons, but at the same time, keeping 3 unlocks on a weapon takes 3 slots away from perks, equipments and such. I feel that the game's balance (snipers aside) is not in a bad spot right now. The starting weapons (the ICR in particular) are good enough to overcome issues.

Man these Blackout matches are becoming stale. Every single match is getting caught in between two people and no matter if you win one gun fight you just get shot in the back for the other.

Being '3rd partied' is something that happens in all battle royal games.

It pisses me off immensely, but I've started to use the same tactic of jumping on guys that are occupied with each other.

Don't engage if you don't have to or you have reasonable cover and are sure to win the fight. There is no point in giving your position away if you're not 100% you're going to get the kill.

When you watch the kill cam pay particular attention to the players map. It shows the location of every player during kill cams and it's funny seeing how close everyone is to each other.

Players camp in buildings/bushes/long grass.

It's actually a really good tactic to let people walk right by you and the nature of only giving XP to player finsihing in the top 15 adds to that.
