Good to see the west coast coming together

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has joined his counterparts in Oregon and California in creating "Western States Pact" that promises close collaboration in the continued fight against COVID-19.

"We are announcing that California, Oregon and Washington have agreed to work together on a shared approach for reopening our economies – one that identifies clear indicators for communities to restart public life and business," read a joint statement issued with Inslee, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and California Gov. Gavin Newsome

wow, a union of states, using cooperation at the head, to get stuff done. They should probably do something like that with ALL the states in the USA (whatever that stands for).

Northeast is doing the same.

New York, New Jersey, and "4 other states"

Edit: the other 4 are Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Not gonna matter if we can't keep the riffraff out when other states open too early. Secession when?
That doesn't seem like a rational worry. It's the states that open, who are surrounded by closed states, that need to worry about an influx of potentially sick people.

Why would people from Texas go to California if Texas is open and California is still closed?

If Texas opens too early and we have to accept visitors from Texas when we open, they are much more likely to be sick.

I don't want visitors from any states that aren't doing it right when we open. We have a good thing going here.

Six Northeast governors have also.

The governors of six states in the northeast are working together to create joint recommendations on how they can reopen their economies in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The effort is being led by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and includes Democratic Govs. Phil Murphy of New Jersey, Ned Lamont of Connecticut, Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania, John Carney of Delaware and Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island.

This is being done by the Northeast and West Coast to tell Trump to fuck off when he tries to reopen the country too soon, make no mistake.

Just imagine if all the states joined together to create some sort of nationally coordinated directorship. They could each send some of their money to fund it along with elected representatives to make decisions, with the leader being the person with the highest number of states' picks. Then you would have a body that protects against threats that stretch across state borders.

US is basically late soviet union with states banding together against the central comitee at this point. Without healthcare though.

Yep. It's really sad seeing the Balkanization, but with a terrible President, this is what needs to be done.
