Kavasutra Kava Bar, a cafe chain that specializes in a drink made with kava root and has locations in both Denver and Lakewood, is catching flack online after a series of Instagram posts calling teachers' unions "trash," asserting that masks are "for leftist losers," calling Coloradans "pussy leftists" and "banning" any teacher who does not voluntarily return to in-person teaching.

"Effective immediately: Any and all grade school teachers who, by choice, have opted not to return to in-person teaching are hereby banned from any and all Kavasutra locations," reads the first post from March 9, though the original version was in all capital letters. "Furthermore, masks may not be worn in Arizona or Florida locations. New York and Colorado are a bunch of pussy leftists so they can cover their mouths with a dirty cloth."

I'll just say that the last business who showed their ass out here in Colorado during Covid got shut down within 2 months and don't have a business anymore. That shit doesn't fly out here, and I have to imagine the same thing for New York.

I don't know how they are still in business lol Their drink seems super niche. Reading the article, one location hosted a Rocket League tournament? Yeah, that's my idea of a good time.... Going to a tea shop to play freakin Rocket League.

I went to a coffee shop once for a LAN party, so I guess that's similar.

They have been shitty for years. They are very political and just general shit heads in all their online postings and relish in it. This is just the latest in a long line of being assholes, and it sadly has not hurt them, they are large and going strong.

Their clients are well versed in how shit they are, their employees also walk around with shirts that are political and such. Folks who pile into these little kava bars to hang out and not wear masks don't give a shit, there is no safe way to drink in their places, they are tiny and crowded

If you're not a protected class and are being discriminated against on the basis of said class you would have no grounds for a lawsuit. You could be told to leave because the owner thinks your shirt looks stupid and that would be perfectly legal regardless of how silly that would be.

Protected classes being "sex, race, age, disability, color, creed, national origin, religion, or genetic information".
