What's the etiquette on asking someone for feedback, after they haven't taken the time to do so in almost two weeks?

I usually leave feedback first, linking the post with feedback to the buyers/sellers afterwards, and telling them I'd appreciate if they could do the same for me - which they always do rather quickly.

For my last sale, however, I left feedback and messaged them, as always, but didn't get a reply, let alone actual feedback (even though they definitely read the message, thanks to the forum's "last read date" conversation info). I gave them a nudge a couple days ago, even including the appropriate response for an easy copy/paste, but still nothing (again, after they'd read my message).

I don't want to keep bothering them, but this is the one sale that'd push me towards "plus" status.

I've sold and purchased plenty of things on here and haven't received feedback on more than a few occasions. At this point I know I'm trustworthy and I don't post feedback until the other person does. I usually end my messages (after receiving item) something along the lines of "if you're not one to post feedback then I won't either but if you do I will". Usually I'll get a PM back saying sure or just end up being tagged in the appropriate thread. If I don't get a response then I also don't leave any. Fuck all that and btw I don't think anymore messages will make a difference. That person ain't leaving feedback if it's been 2 weeks.

I'd like to know the appropriate feedback method for buyer and seller.

I'm not complaining about my experience per se but often times I don't receive feedback from a seller until I post feedback for them. I sometimes feel like my feedback is held hostage until I post feedback. If I pay after committing to buy shouldn't that warrant positive feedback? I'll leave my own once I receive the product and everything is as listed, but my part should be finished, no?

As someone who has positive seller feedback essentially stuck in limbo due to two buyers who seemingly can't be bothered, it really only takes one bad experience to rethink how you approach leaving feedback and when to do so.

I haven't held feedback hostage, but I now inform buyers that I will only leave the appropriate feedback once I've gotten confirmation from them that everything has been received and is in good order. This is also when I'll throw in a tidbit explaining that I would appreciate feedback in kind once the time comes.

It wouldn't really be a grand issue if I was more established in this community, but so far I've only conducted six sales and two purchases. As you can imagine, every little bit of feedback received at this stage helps demonstrate that I'm a trustworthy user who you can do business with instead of being a flight risk.

Funny, the other person in the group is in the Chicago area. It only affects a small handful of channels where you get the Boston ABC channel instead of Chicago. This has an impact if you like the news/weather and occasionally for football where maybe the Chicago Bears is broadcasted only in the Midwest instead of nationally.
