I see what you're going for but it's not quite the same thing. A demo disc only gave you a small sampling of a game and you make the decision based on that demo whether the game is worth buying. This is you keeping the game through PS+ like it's in your collection forever and you still decide to buy the game in spite of that. It's very much like Gamepass but even better since the game won't be delisted and you can redownload it if you want as long as you've claimed it.
it's still a demo even if it's free b/c it's not a free to play game. it's for exposure and word of mouth since the free part is only temporary like getting the demo disc from a monthly magazine. I was shocked the song is only the credits theme. Like it needed to be in the actual game.50/50. It's undeniable the song drew people in but if the game didn't live up to that then it wouldn't have done nearly as well.
