Thank you, dear person, for putting into words the feelings I'm getting from seeing Bubsy still existing in the current generation but couldn't explain myself..
Oh there's far more than two.
There's the original, the sequel, the one on Jaguar, the 3D monstrosity, the new one, and now this one.
Reminder that this is the studio that made the Bit.Trip series. Those games are a blast, and given that this looks in league with Runner 2/3, it weirdly might have a chance!

Jokes on you, my little cousin downloaded the other Bubsy game from this gen (I can't believe I'm actually saying this) and was visibly sad when it was over. So... I guess Bubsy has fans?

Real answer? The developer is actually good.
It has a very real chance to be the best Bubsy game ever made, which isn't saying much. But it has a chance to be at the very least a decent game on top of that.
Plus, Bubsy does have fans, believe it or not.

I think making Bubsy a self-aware 90s-referencing game could work if handled right.

M rated Bubsy would've been far more interesting. They don't have to worry about kids cause they only people who care about or even remember Bubsy are likely in their 30's anyway
