There's still the option of changing it to a post office show where absolutely nobody acknowledges the change.
Has there ever been a college security show? If not I can't believe it.I think it'd be cool if they all went to go to a wacky community college or something
lol that would be awesome. There's still the option of changing it to a post office show where absolutely nobody acknowledges the change.
They could bring Pimento back full time with this. Though I guess he wasn't an insurance investigator in his last appearance.I was thinking insurance adjusters, so they could still investigate stuff.
.They should just move them from something else that isn't police.

I love this show and the cast so much. I'm really glad the show can keep going and this good bunch of people can address the problems in the real police.
Or they can have Captain Holt be fired due to racist, homophobic cops at the top of the chain, and the main crew all follow him in opening their own private detective agency.
I'm out of the loop here, as I try to avoid Twitter, what'd he do/say?
Brutality hasn't been addressed much (from what I've seen, I'm 1,5 seasons behind), but corruption, racism & incompetence have been and in ways that they don't ever claim to have solved the issue. They acknowledge they are on-going, large scale issues and just kind of make a point of "we just have to keep fighting it whenever & wherever it manifests"I just don't get it.
Systemic brutality and racism has been an issue from the start. Either they claim the issue is new in this world - which is fucking stupid. Or they suddenly discover it, which is also fucking stupid. Or they've always known, which is also fucking stupid.
This is a no-win situation and they shouldn't do it. Just change the show and use it as a means to talk about it that way. Maybe they will go that direction, but I'm not holding my breath.
Go back to NeoGAF.They could have done another season just fine without grovelling like this its pathetic. Start the season with a disclaimer or a word from the cast and crew then carry on.
This is such a good idea. I'm going to be upset if it doesn't happen now. There's still the option of changing it to a post office show where absolutely nobody acknowledges the change.
Change it to the Brooklyn 99 Detective Agency. They all become private investigators.
I started watching the show just before the death of George Floyd and it has been interesting watching the show in the wake of all the protests. I think I finally just got to a very real and emotional episode last night in Season 4 for the first time that takes on a cop that is very clearly racist towards Terry and he has to debate about filing a report with Holt. Most of the other episodes so far have had lighter touches of other systemic issues in a police department but haven't really taken anything on seriously.Brutality hasn't been addressed much (from what I've seen, I'm 1,5 seasons behind), but corruption, racism & incompetence have been and in ways that they don't ever claim to have solved the issue. Either that or the show should be cancelled, it cannot continue as a cop show without leaving a bad taste in my mouth. There's still the option of changing it to a post office show where absolutely nobody acknowledges the change.
Or Buscemi.Just make them firefighters and have Jon Stewart on as a regular.
For those claiming that the show doesn't need to adjust much or that it wasn't copaganda, I found this to be a good read for someone who has casually watched the show in the past: https://fourgetregret.tumblr.com/po...9-is-more-culpable-actually-all-cop-shows-are
I don't see a way forward that isn't totally abandoning the premise of the show, which I do not believe they will do.
With the current environment I don't think they'll be able to successfully pull off another season. As mentioned before they could pull a gag and completely change the setting either in the same timeline or alternative for one more season and call it quits. The best move forward is for the creatives to move on to an entirely new show concept that includes as much of the current cast as possible.

They could make it Wuntch's last act to reassign them all to the fire department. There's still the option of changing it to a post office show where absolutely nobody acknowledges the change.
The problem with detectives is that there's no reason for them to be cops TBH. Don't have detective be a promotion for cops, separate the jobs and start hiring people from all kinds of backgrounds like lawyers and accountants and researchers and give them detective training with the reformed idea of cops that are there for physical support in cases of arrests and such. The FBI does it like that I hear. A trained investigative forensics accountant is probably more a more valuable investigator then a beat cop that gets promoted after X years of traffic stops and apprenticeship in this day and age
omg yesThey could make it Wuntch's last act to reassign them all to the fire department.

Just have a different company each week that they call the 'Nine Nine'
one week it's a post office, the next a plumbing company, then a gardening company, then a criminal organisatikn
fuck it just go nuts
