This post is particularly offensive. I have no problem ignoring most of them out of respect for those who wish to enjoy the thread, but if you're going to call me a mysoginist asshole you better back it up with something more than "They don't care for a video I liked."

I've had similar encounters like this in the past with ERA members who found it difficult to believe that not every person with a different opinion than theirs necessarily fits into the same mold of a troll. I don't know if that means there are too many trolls on this forum, or if people are just too quick to jump on another person without checking who they are.
FWIW I don't think your a misogynistic troll. I think you are overly highly strung and could do with 39 tips to destress.

You're suggesting the only things to be stressed about in a global pandemic are living arrangements and money. They're critical ones, but so is mental health and the general health and welfare of family and friends. I don't suppose to know her arrangements there, nor should you. The same is true for innumerable other stresses in life that are being exacerbated by this situation.

Feels like these threads are just full of people dunking on people over petty shit. Brie seems like a cool lady and I'm definitely taking a couple pointers. Lol.

I prefer that bite a lemon video better. The bitterness distracts you from problems.

I won't accuse you of being a misogynist, necessarily. I will accuse you of being really ignorant about mental health.

Rich people can have mental health issues. In fact, there's research that argues that money up to a certain point provides happiness; after which it's diminishing returns. We're living in an era of horrible amounts of economic inequality, but I don't think a Brie Larson thread is the place to hash that out. She even admits her privilege in the video.

Her YouTube channel is actually pretty fun. I dig her giving a peak behind the curtain into auditioning & all the rejections she got early on in her career before hitting it big.

Almost all her content is really laid back & just normal shit around the house. Kinda cool.

User Banned (3 Days): Thread Derailment and Accusing the Community of Being a "Hive Mind"

You know what, y'all win.
I surrender to the hive mind.

God forbid I should have my own opinions about mental health. Perhaps even a lifetime of experience both personal and in the family. But those clearly don't count as much because I'm a simple pleb rather than a celebrity. How dare I suggest that greater wealth enables greater access to counseling, therapy, doctors, medication, wellness programs and general means of improving well-being. Only a chauvinist would say such a thing!

I was wrong to think it's ok to criticize someone above my class. In fact, let's start a gofundme to help this poor celebrity who despite the incomparable hardship and misfortune she's experienced still finds the kindness to give back so much to the world. The hell with paying my own rent, she needs it more. She's an inspiration to us all and I salute her.

Seriously, a lot of people in this thread are being really petty - you keep insisting on dragging this thread down when I've already said more than once I'd stop posting if you let it go.

Give it a god damn rest.

Brie is the best, love her wholesome channel and it's great she took on a new hobby.

She was a delight on Gary Whitta's animal crossing show.

I think the video is pretty harmless, but some people are being a bit harsh on efyu.

Videos such as this from celebrities are always treading a very fine line and can easily be taken as insensitive, regardless of whether it's Brie Larson or not (though I fully concede that it being her is going to invite more harassment). Of course celebrities have stress as well and they need to address that, but it's easy to see that they have greater means to do such a thing.

There is always that vibe like from that "Imagine" video. A bit of a disconnect. Ultimately though the video is positive and should be treated as such, but in such situations I don't blame people for getting rightfully annoyed (when it is rightful, and not just a reason to shit on Brie Larson for the umpteenth time).

People are being harsh because like you said, it's harmless (she even quickly explains that she understands the obvious privilege she has despite it all, so it's not like she's being tone deaf), and this shit always happens with Brie Larson threads.

Fair enough, I think you're absolutely stressed out. You need to take a refreshing walk if possible (if its safe) and just step away from the internet. This is actually what the video is kind referring to. You got triggered, and that's perfectly fine. The poster who called you a misogynist is absolutely wrong.

More to a general point, and I am not addressing you, as you have pointed out the greater access to counseling for the wealthier class. But obviously mental health isn't just restricted to financial well being. Wealthy people kill themselves all the time, we know this.

Overall I think the thread was posted in good faith and it is a cute video, there's nothing to be stressed out about this video.

From this thread, you'd think her top 5 ways to relax were
1) Take your five racecars for a spin on your private track.
2) Buy ten new outfits for a $40 000 each that you'll never wear anyway.
3) Take a five week cruise on your personal yacht.
4) Take a helicopter ride over Los Angeles and spit on poor people.
5) Eat sashimi from endangered fish breeds, prepared by your personal chef, served on the backs of escorts.

So a person who worked her way to a high paying job spends her time being bored because said job is on hiatus in her multiple room home, making funny and friendly videos to share online because she can't actually spend 100% of her time playing Animal Crossing. I mean, she owns a treadmill AND a disco ball AND a shower AND a bath. The absolute nerve! How dare she?

Could we at least focus our outrage on people who are actively going out of their way to be assholes?

I like Brie. It was an amusing video.

I know why people don't like her, it's really sad, pathetic and hateful. I can't be bothered going into it, so obvious.

I don't know how you can watch her videos on auditions she didn't get and then ask what reason she'd have to be stressed. But then most of the haters don't watch her videos, they just talk out of their asses about them. Hell I'm betting most of them didn't even watch this one where she admits that she has a position of privilege.

To me, it sounds like you're the petty one. Just stop fucking posting in the thread if you don't want people to respond.

And another comment of note, "eat the rich" should be geared to people who gamed the system, ie, fund managers, investment bankers, tech bros - people who basically made their money by fucking over others. Not necessarily people who happen to have a high paying career.

Or some of us genuinely don't enjoy the level of comfort in our lives that she does.
I'm comfy in my life and I don't have anything close to what she does materially. In fact, I think that kind of stuff would make me feel less comfy.

Still not doing cold showers though. I live where it gets to -20 to 40 for like 3 or 4 months of the year. Get enough cold exposure to calm me down.

Glad to hear you're comfy. I agree that her level of wealth is absolutely not necessary for comfort. But it's also much harder to relax when you're experiencing repeated heat waves while quarantined in a 200 square foot bug infested apartment, and around you the country is back in lockdown after you've spent months working your ass off trying to do a decent job while still following every conflicting regulation and ultimately still having your pay cut in half.

In tough times like this some people looking for ways to relax won't necessarily appreciate being given mostly trivial suggestions from a person that looks like they have very little to worry about in comparison.
And that's ok. Not everybody has to like the same things.

It's not as if having money cures stress and other mental issues. At what level of success are people not allowed to need help? Can she not concerned about the global pandemic, the coming elections, her own personal issues, etc.?

Money definitely helps and it also helps focusing on your mental health. How many of us can't actually afford to see a professional to help us?

This thread has turned pretty silly I agree, but can we like not invoke someone's suicide as a gotcha?
I know I went a bit extreme there. But it is frustrating to me that somebody's mental health can be taken less seriously due to some arbitrary reasons. I used Robin Williams as an example because he's clearly a much richer person than many of us and still dealt with mental health issues. If I were just a little richer than somebody else, I guess I should have no stress? Is it privileged of me going out taking a walk in the local park to de-stress? The vast majority of things in Brie's video here is out of the accessibility of us regular folks.

Indeed. The list of auditions that she failed it was anxiety inducing for me as an outside person. It's like falling some tens or hundreds of job interviews. It is part of the actor's life, but I doubt it doesn't put pressure on one's mental health.
