Nah I dislike BotW but that title still belongs to Final Fantasy VII.
I've never agreed on anything more.

Hmm. I guess that's true? But it's true for any beloved series or developer.
Oh yeah no doubt, but Nintendo needed those two wins after the flop that was the Wii U ;^))I'd say that Odyssey isn't too far behind in the overratedneed either, though. :^)
yep, hoarder culture gone wrongIt was perfect but it's the most overcriticized mechanic I've ever seen in a game. I think it exposed how bad people can't let go of stuff.
I've been playing games for around 40 years, since Atari 2600, Odyssey2 and Colecovision.
It did something new, poorly, that other games would then go on to copy and make better.I personally find that saying something was "new and revolutionary" does not equate to saying it is "overrated" Which one is it?
I can see why some people don't like the concept of durability but it serves an important purpose. Breath of the Wild is all about improvisation in terms of both exploration and combat. You can't ride a horse forever and you can't walk in a straight line forever. Combat works in much the same way where you need to experiment with your surrounding and use whatever you have on you - if you had a weapon that couldn't break then the combat system is suddenly a lot more tedious. I somewhat believe the Master Sword delivers that feeling as in the late game it's likely to recharge inbetween major encounters, contradicting the purpose of durability.
This is straight up wrong.
Yup that's the term I was looking for. Btw I meant to say "it wasn't perfect".
Agreed, and I really don't like BotW.Nah I dislike BotW but that title still belongs to Final Fantasy VII.
>tfw BotW is the worst one since it lets you start exploring 45 seconds after getting control of Link instead of railroading you through entire game like TRUE masterpieces such as Skyward Sword.
You couldn't make up them ranking Skyward Sword as no.1
I wasn't even a Zelda fan when I played Breath of the Wild and my enjoyment was not impactedThey're right about one thing:
If Breath of the Wild wasn't called Zelda, it wouldn't get that much praise.
But guess what ? Being a Zelda game is part of the appeal of that game. It's part of a background, it's part of a universe. It's part of a universe. All of that makes an appealing world.
Saying "if Breath of the Wild wasn't a Zelda game" is the same as saying "If Breath of the Wild had a bad gameplay/wasn't open world/hadn't X elements". It's idiotic.
