Until this gets sent to Congress, any leaks that we hear about will almost certainly be from the White House who will cherrypick and spin the parts that will sound postive. Just be aware of that.

Seeing these words plastered over the site is just cathartic. I can't believe it's really happening. God help us all.

Folks, just because the big indictments didn't come before the investigation was closed doesn't mean anything. Mueller's job was always to investigate, and it's pretty clear that the indictments he's served up until now have been a part of that. The big stuff was always going to come later, one way or another.
Plus sealed indictments.

Trump just made a veiled threat about his "people" rising up if this report wasnt favorable, meaning I doubt he knows exactly whats in it. They fed the WH counsel a load of stuff they knew wasnt true from Manafort, and WH played right into their hands and said yep, thats how it went down.

I will not be surprised if this is the Kavanaugh hearing rerun and you watch old white dudes on live TV say we aint goan do sheeit.

BUT, I think theres a large chance there's damning stuff, Barr pulls a Sessions and says "woops turns out I have to release this, boss. Sorry." The House mounts multiple actions in the span of a few hours, the Senate look at each other and whisper "order 66". Turn on Trump because this "new" evidence means even they cant stop the tipping point. They flip and everyone calls in sick to watch Trump escorted out Nixon style. Repubs will constantly have "you supported him!" thrown in their faces, but they'll wave it off and say up until the report, there were no facts.

This could happen.

For anyone looking to cling to ever fading hope of any outcome other than Trump being strengthened by the report, this is from a couple of weeks ago:

https://spectator.us/mueller-barr-battle-indict-trump/

Essentially says the report was complete, Mueller & Barr agree that Trump's children & Kushner should be indicted, but that Barr disagrees with Mueller that Trump himself should be.
This would be good news. As has been mentioned a million times, the DOJ position is they can't indict a sitting president. If this is actually true and Mueller wanted to, that means there is evidence he should be.

There's a reason Trump has been berating a dead man this week. Odds are, Trump has a very clear verdict on what this report entails, and odds are, a lot of what is in that Dossier is going to line up. Plus, he's a bully and it lines right up with his shit demeanor to attack someone that cannot fight back to make himself feel superior.

My prediction is that the investigation holds merit that there was undoubtedly Russian interference in the election, and through those investigative means, there is going to be a lot turned over to SDNY regarding the financial ends of this investigation. Trump will not be indicted (as you cannot sit an indicted President), but there is slew of investigations that SDNY is lining up regarding Trump and his organization. The Russian interference gave way to the higher financial crimes, which is where Trump is going to have to answer.

Here we go again. The "Nothing will come of this crowd" out in full force, all the while ignoring everything that has come of this investigation.

Did it work?

There's some people in this thread that have fewer posts than the number of pisses I've taken this week, despite having accounts since 2017.

At this point this feels like a fever dream.

But maybe. God maybe.

As a UK lawyer, not sure I understand the reasoning that a sitting president can't be indicted. Doest't that mean they are above the law?

But why wouldn't he indict Trump family members as part of the investigation if he found evidence of criminal conduct?

I expect, and have been expecting, the report to say that the President engaged in activities that obstructed justice but that he doesn't believe that a sitting President can be indicted and so it's up to Congress to determine what to do. And Congress won't do anything.

Trump crows about NO COLLUSION no matter what the report says and Dems just continue to be pissed off at him over everything. His approval rating hovers at his eternal 41%.

This won't effect 2020 in any serious way.

This is good test if the USA is still a functioning democracy and a trustworthy ally for the rest of the world.

Hello, Mr. President.

No collusion, no collusion...

I was just saying hello.

No collusion. Look at a map of my electoral college victory.

I have absolutely no clue how this is going to play out. How much it will find, whether Barr will pass it all to Congress, whether those sealed indictments mean anything, whether, even if direct proof of wrongdoing is found, the GOP will support impeachment, whether anything at all will come from this.

I just don't know. But my attention is being held captive.

And they'll be talking about his win and where the Democrats went wrong in losing yet again.
I'd love to hear how. Trump lost the popular vote by 3 million against Hillary Clinton. Is she going to run again? Where are the favorable numbers in Trump's favor? How many people that bought the whole "he an outsider" shtick still believe it? How does Trump win again? Think he's going to actually start being a president and not have a weekly scandal before now and the election?

I'm not stupid enough to say it's impossible but I just don't get YOUR confidence. Just your gut?

Not expecting much to come out of this. Also expect the report to be heavily redacted if it ever goes public (I think it'll be kept completely private)

It just makes so much sense why he was shooting off at McCain now. I was really puzzled, and now I get it. Lie and claim it was all based on the Dossier. THat's going to be their short-term strategy. It ain't great, but they gotta try something, I guess.
