I hope they never do because quite honestly I feel that it'll be ruined.Man, I can totally see Mistborn games being made but I just don't see a studio capable of such a feat. Maybe Insomniac?

He's also recently stated that he just doesn't have the necessary funds that game development would cost so he needs a backer who would be really into investing that kind of money into it.

I never thought about it, but it kind of is, isn't it? Suddenly I have (very slight) interest in GodfallWonder what he will think of Godfall given how inspired it is by The Stormlight Archive.
So, can we just get a Mistborn game at this point? He mentioned in the video below that he'd make sure it happens if a good studio approached him, but allomancy feels tailor made for games
Ruined ;)I hope they never do because quite honestly I feel that it'll be ruined.
I never read that far, tbh; I stopped reading after the second book, but I really enjoyed both, so there's that.
I remember that. Man, it's great to see creators that are this involved with their community
Wait Brandon Sanderson has time to play games? Guy just has to be someone that has insane efficiency.
The creative director has highlighted it in interviews. Will be interesting to see how much they borrow.I never thought about it, but it kind of is, isn't it? Suddenly I have (very slight) interest in Godfall
If they have the weapons basically beat for beat shardblades I'd be okay with that, honestlyThe creative director has highlighted it in interviews. Will be interesting to see how much they borrow.
I'm impressed that this isn't just a nostalgia list for that reason. He's obviously actively gamingThat's a great list that is hard to argue with. I couldn't change it without being hyper focused on one genre. It's quite balanced.
How does he find the time while writing so much?!?!
Yes I can, IX is better than X. Otherwise, it's a respectable list, glad he realizes that New Vegas is the superior Fallout.
He decided to play some video games instead of accidentally writing another whole-ass series of novels.Wait Brandon Sanderson has time to play games? Guy just has to be someone that has insane efficiency.
I'm sure they could Preserve the original intent. Or maybe reach a Harmony of sorts.
I know he said that he prefers single player games. But based on what he said about the games in the video, I kind of really want him to play FFXIV. But if anything is a time sink...I'm impressed that this isn't just a nostalgia list for that reason. He's obviously actively gaming

I hope so, else they would have to bear the Odium from wasted potential.I'm sure they could Preserve the original intent. Or maybe reach a Harmony of sorts.

I'm on The Gathering Storm right now, and yeah. He's done an amazing job.Even if his list was complete trash, he stuck the landing with Wheel of Time and for that I will be forever a fan.
The feel of movement would be paramount, so Insomniac could be a good fit for sure
To be fair, nearly every single FF is better than X. But yes, IX is a masterpiece.
Heck, with Sunset Overdrive they could make some mean Edgedancers for a Stormlight gameThe push and pull mechanics that Kelsier & co use for traversal remind me a lot of web slinging so yeah
Agreed 100%Good taste and variety by Brandon
Rhythm of War is the most exciting thing coming out in November.
Yeah I said it 😁

How about an MMO? You can only really be a misting, though that would take some of the fun out of not having the push and pull mechanicsGreat List! For the Mistborn game I actually think there are too many powers/systems and that this would make the gameplay too complicated.
could you imagine playing as a Mistborn and having to constantly swap between using different kinds of allomancy? What would the restrictions be? Would you have fuel (metal ) levels on each metal, or choose different loadouts for missions in advance? I think a game with a twinborn like Waxillium would work better. Or maybe an RPG/strategy game where you control/manage a thieving crew and each character only has 1 power and you can call in a mistborn summon or something like that
Honestly that doesn't seem too hard at all?Great List! For the Mistborn game I actually think there are too many powers/systems and that this would make the gameplay too complicated.

Meat of gameplay would be the Push/Pull from Iron and Steel, which I can't imagine would be too complicated to implement (it's basically just a telekenetic ability with a specific target). Then for the other physical metals you have Tin, which enhances senses (you could implement as a Ubisoft Super Vision thing) and Pewter, which enhances strength (straight attack buff). Then for non-physical you have Bronze, which lets you detect allomancy (radar-implementation), Copper, which lets you hide allomancy (stealth) and Zinc/Brass, which manipulate emotions (this would be the hardest to manage, and might need to be limited to specific instances). And then Atium and the other super-metals for special abilities.
You'd need to simplify the resource system since I don't think anyone wants to keep track of like, 8 different bars (maybe just have a generic "metal" resource), but the actual mechanics is only like, one or two steps above the typical Ubisoft protagonist at most.
