It's been approved
The city of Boston has approved an application for a "straight pride" parade with the same route as the official Pride parade, and it is set to take place on August 31 at 3pm.

"Straight pride" was organised by Super Happy Fun America, a group whose website claims that straight people are "America's most brutally repressed identity."

According to Boston.com, although organisers have received permission to hold the event from the city, they still need approval from police and the licensing board.
Mayor of Boston Marty Walsh previously said on Twitter: "Permits to host a public event are granted based on operational feasibility, not based on values or endorsements of belief."However, the mayor has also said that he will not be attending the "straight pride" parade.

There were a lot of tweets about the "Straight Pride" parade that's going to be held in Boston in August. It's just a rebrand of Resist Marxism, a violent far-right group based in Boston, MA. Let's meet the organizer, Mark Sahady, and see his ties to violence and hate.

Just a friendly reminder that these are far right assholes.

I don't get it. People don't get harassed for being straight. Is this what they are celebrating? Cause it's not a good look.

They're not "celebrating" anything. They're trying to make themselves look like they're being oppressed. Show up with a few dozen people, get surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands of protesters, and lean on that good old police protection. Their game hasn't changed.

The idea of someone chanting about straight pride is ridiculous and hilariously sad. Pride doesn't put down straight people at all. But I'd be willing to bet that these people will chant derogatory things about LGBT people.

Ah, the snowflake syndrome. Hopefully it's exactly as you've described, 100 Counter protestors to every 1 of the hateful snowflakes.

It's not about being straight, it's being able to call everyone "faggots", while you have like 2-3 police officers protecting thousands from murdering you.

Damn that's true. Man these guys are real pricks.

the kinds of people who would march in this are the kind that will argue that discrimination and harassment do not occur and feel threatened by other people calling attention to problems they don't experience.

"discrimination doesn't happen but if it did you had it coming" type thoughts.

I'd love too see the the parade route lined with people with a dozen eggs each egging these people as they march. Egg them by the thousands. Buy up every egg in a five mile radius and absolutely drench them with them.

It's disappointing that these straight people can't wait for Old Navy's 4th of July sale like the rest of us when we want to celebrate our straight pride. Clowns.

FINALLY something for straight white guys to celebrate!!

We really are basically an endangered species at this point and probably THE most discriminated against class of people which everybody knows but it's not "cool" to talk about.

BTW what are we guessing for wardrobe? Cargo shorts and....

It's a recruiting tool for bigots and a way to normalize the rallying of bigots in public.

These kinds of people also try to use such stunts to create confusion about the purpose of minority recognition. Their crying about "straight pride", which is something already taken for granted and normal in society, makes it seem as if a minority wants something special that other people don't get to have. "And that's not fair!"

I feel like this is going to be massively counter protested and almost no one will show to actively take part in the actual parade and the organizaers will claim threats or intimidation as the reason why.

Oh they will. The poor far right would be fascists can't get THEIR voice heard because of all those equal rights bullies, or something like that.
