I had always thought that when Borderlands 3 came out, you would be able to play as all the previous vault hunters from the prior three BL games--1, 2, and the Pre-Sequel(though, I guess certain events from BL2 would make that hard). That would make for 16 classes, plus whatever else BL3 would introduce, which would potentially make for a 20-23 character roster in this first person loot shooter.
I had always thought Battleborn was something of a beta for a true BL3, should it have a large cast. If we're really getting just four playable vault hunters like the other three games, then I'd think that'd a little bit disappointing. Between the descriptions of the four, I'd probably play as the Siren, Hunter and Assassin class the most.
I really hope they do Tales from the Borderlands justice. It is by far my favorite Borderlands game (I say that as someone who loved BL2 and poured 80+ hours into it). The fact that it'll never get a sequel is a crime :( Gimme some Loader Bot
Unpopular opinion but I wouldn't mind some form of level-scaling (maybe optional/toggle). 'Cause if you do side-quests, you're always goddam overlevelled for the main story and that was annoying.
Nah, I typically don't bother with NG+ in those games.Did you play ultimate Vault hunter mode in 2 and the presequel, that's what that was.
Yeah, melee focused characters aren't my favorite in Borderlands, a game where one of its biggest feature is its bagillion guns.Siren being melee focused is lame. Played as a Siren the last two games and planned to do that for this one too but going by those descriptions I think I'll go the mech one or the pet user.
Oh well if you ever get a chance , its what you are looking for
I hope they'll take a bit of inspiration from the new looter shooters that appeared since Borderlands 2. Notably I'd like more group content like raids or something.
There were raids in BL2. Giant boss fights designed for a full group. Multiple ones with DLC included.
I'm thinking something more designed with group mechanics like Destiny raids.
D1's Raids are so much more complicated than Borderlands' alleged "Raid Boss" that it's not even funny. To solo the Vault of Glass is next to impossible unless you're one of the best Destiny players, period, and even then, Atheon isn't beatable alone (you need at least three people). Crota's End is far more doable solo thanks to the fact that it's a badly designed Raid (more closely resembling The Shattered Throne dungeon from D2 Forsaken), but it still requires a lot of cheesing to get through (such as the sword skip, which to my knowledge is no longer possible, rendering CE impossible to solo). The Taken King isn't possible to solo, given how many of the encounters are designed, and while the final boss of Wrath of the Machine is beatable alone, most of the encounters in that Raid are not.Technically all of D1's raids could be soloed as well, but I see what you're saying.
They are soloable, and it's incredibly easy to do, especially if you're a Gunzerker or Psycho, but none of the characters are particularly bad at soloing "Raid Bosses". It's just that those two in particular are really well-suited to it.
There is a persistent rumor that at least one TPS DLC was in production and was canned after TPS underperformed and 2K Australia got killed. This is supposed to be one of the unreleased DLCs.

I've always heard that 2K Australia was killed not because of any issues with the game or its sales, but because 2K didn't like having to pay Australian wages and wanted to move game development to cheaper-slash-closer regions. It was essentially the death knell for Australian AAA, frustratingly. There is a persistent rumor that at least one TPS DLC was in production and was canned after TPS underperformed and 2K Australia got killed. Thank you. I'll edit accordinglyCarcosa isn't itself new content. It's just the nightly development branch for Ailanthus.
Borderlands has Raid bosses, not actual raids. There were raids in BL2. Giant boss fights designed for a full group. Multiple ones with DLC included. Some of the harder horde modes in the DLC practically needed a group to survive as well.
I don't think we're gonna see Borderlands 3 this year but I'd looooooooove to be wrong.
Man Borderlands 2 and The Presequel were great. First one was great too, but not as good as 2 for me.
It's already had at least 1 delay. 4 years of dev time. Is targeting this gen and is on the investor reports as coming Fiscal 2019 which is this year unless they release it before march in 2020. I'd say it's looking like a very strong possibility this year.
Did you play ultimate Vault hunter mode in 2 and the presequel, that's what that was. And it got super hard, you litterally couldn't invite people to high level because even like 1 or two level scaling would kill you and the mode was sorta built for co-op. Then there were the OP levels after that
Woah dlc for borderlands 2? I'd be down for that as it justifies my purchase of the pc version. I'm also cautiously hyped for borderlands 3 as those leaked details sound awesome but I'm scared of the possibility that the game gets filled with MTX and paid lootboxes.
Yeah, they went too hard on it. UVHM where you just beat the final boss in the last difficulty and the lowliest...anything can damn near 1 shot you and those are the level appropriate mobs. The bulletsponginess of the early game just ain't fun while you can be shredded like paper with the slightest breeze is more frustrating than anything.
Will quad dip if they talk 1X update. If more DLC is coming, hopefully that means XBX/Pro support as well.
This has alleviated my worries for now. Thanks !I wouldn't worry too much. The Outer Worlds is being published by Take2 and is free of any kind of MTX and Randy had the following to say on the subject
