"Operation Grand Heist welcomes Outrider to the action, featuring new and improved weaponry, she brings the hunt to Black Ops 4. Her new Special Issue Equipment, the Hawk, is a pilotable drone that can be parked at strategic overwatch positions and will automatically tag enemies in its view to help you find and eliminate your prey. Her Sparrow Special Issue Weapon returns with a boost to its precision and power with accurate, explosive-tipped arrows that detonate on impact. Outrider will be instantly unlocked in Multiplayer and Blackout once players complete Tier 1 of the new Operation in the Black Market. "

As mentioned earlier this is the last map of chaos for the season. The next 2 maps will be Aether maps so I'm very excited for that. I'm also hoping that this is what wraps up the story, though if there's a season 2 I wouldn't be shocked if Aether will also continue into season 2.

I wonder if the lack of BR and potentially the lack of Zombies in CoD 2019 is indicative of their plans for BO4.

the current situation surrounding cod zombies is interesting. There have been 3 attempts from the 2 other studios to have their own zombie mode (Exo zombies, and WW2 zombies for sledgehammer, and IW zombies for Infinity Ward) and they've mostly ended in failure with the community simply not caring.

Black Ops 4 has been an interesting situation because it put the community in a strange spot where the loved Aether story got a continuation thanks to the Blood of the Dead ending, but they've been waiting since launch for a new Aether map and it sounds like they won't get it until June/July. The community is really eager for the Aether maps and that has lead to the dismissal of the new storyline.

I don't know if they confirmed no BR for the next game but it sounded like there wasn't a zombies mode, which is a void that Treyarch could fill with BO4 assuming interest in the chaos storyline increases. This new map has to basically be a homerun for people to start caring for Chaos story wise.

As for Blackout, I kinda wonder if the endgame for Blackout is to disassociate it with BO4, and have it be the franchise's official free to play BR title.

I'd actually say for IW Zombies it's quite beloved in the community. It still had a lot of QoL stuff that even BO4 seems to struggle with.

Anytime IW Zombies comes up in zombies discussion the Cod Zombies community always talks about how good it was and how unfairly shitted on it got just for not being Treyarch.

Zombies in Spacelands is hands down one of the best base zombie maps imho.

Blog mentions:
New game modes are also set to debut during Operation Grand Heist, kicking off this Friday with Hot Pursuit, our newest respawn mode featuring three new vehicles, each with unique advantages: the SUV, Muscle Car, and PBR. Roll out in a Muscle Car to spot nearby Supply Stashes or Supply Drops, or put out an APB in one of the new police vehicles with built-in Sensor Darts and the ability to detect occupied Muscle Cars.

So it sounds like it's just that mode, but we'll find out tomorrow.

Oh wow, this all actually looks neat

I wasn't expecting a content drop this big, with how glacial the support has been for this game. Hopefully the updates will become more frequent now.

While he doesn't show up one YouTuber got a preview and they saw David Mason from BO2. Was wondering when they would add him.

Pretty nifty update. Hopefully the new Operative has actually been play tested this time and isn't broken as fuck like Zero was when she released.

Can't imagine she's broken. She's basically her BO version but with a tactical ability as well. Ultimately her ult will be similar to stuff like Seraph and Battery.

I see it as more viable places to drop in, no so much looting in late game.
Dropping in affects far more players than late game does, obviously.

In the MP it will be the Specialist weapon like Battery's Grenade Launcher and Seraph's gun.

For Blackout it will likely be something that can be found in either supply crates (like Battery's weapon) or do a small little challenge to get (like Seraph's gun).

So are they actually gonna put the new maps in rotation this time or is it gonna be stuck in its own playlist for 72 years?

I haven't played mp for awhile - did the new maps ever get put into rotation? I've been sticking with blackout lately.

They were added into the rotation. I believe they (the new maps) will be in the standard rotation from the start this time but with a new map specific playlist as well.

I can't believe a COD is keeping my attention like this in 2019.

They need to work on monetization and including the maps in normal rotation, but other than that it's the best COD since MW3.

Thanks, good to hear. I was on the fence on buying that game pass a few months ago, and figured "hey I'm actually sticking with this game way more than the previous 2 games, I might as well get the maps." And then I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the maps in rotation and just got fed up. Prob never gonna get suckered into the DLC ever again after this.

Title Updates should, overall, be smaller moving forward. A bunch of work was done to help reduce these sizes.

That's cool to hear. Is appreciated on PS4 due to how it does it's updates.

Also apparently people are reporting that the Black Market no longer has item rotating and just shows everything that can be bought at any time.

Edit: Seems incorrect. Still rotating.

For me, the update Black Market only shows 2 weekly items, the Special Order, and "My Deal" which changes daily. Maybe it hasn't gone fully live yet?

I think someone on Discord didn't quite understand the new Black Market and thought there was more. Like they maybe thought the Inventory was the shop.
