The 7th BitSummit event was held in 2019 while the one for 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
BitSummit The 8th Bit will be held on September 2nd and 3rd 2021 from 10:00am to 5:00pm JST.

Assuming it's like last time in 2019, there will be numerous live streams of the exhibitions and of other parts of the show floor covered by famitsu, dengeki, ign japan etc which can be viewed online.

Some of the exhibits that will occur:
- Inti Creates will have a new game announcement (note that Blaster Master Zero 3 already released July 29 2021 and Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is coming 2022 regarding recent known games).
- Gemdrops will have a new game announcement, this studio is currently developing COGEN: Sword of Rewind (trailer here) and the studio is run by former tri-Ace Lead Engineer Yuichiro Kitao.
- Shuhei Yoshida from Sony, Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba from PlatinumGames will talk about Sol Cresta and future prospects.
- Kenichiro Takaki from Cygames will talk about Project GAMM and new challenges in the future.
