My new gamebook Gaols & Other Places has a similar intro

here are no things that people do little and important like the desert. In all respects, most ponds are walking on the ground, and most of the sky is high above. The Vuerthyl Oasis is a collection of sunglasses in the sunshine of the Anauroch Valley.

In a variety of ways, arrange the Azam you meet with the bike in the big castle, where the Calimshan hospital passes a groom. Two files that look like no heat are close to the visitor's eyes. The interior of the tent is bright with light and wind, although it is as hot as anything else. The quiet voice is an air-filled instrument and a person who seeks food, drinks and conversation. The colourful colour scheme welcomes you and guides you through a table without anything. There are several travelers here.

It's truly remarkable that in the wake of the Miucin scandal, and the growing ease with which works can be checked for originality, people continue to not only plagiarize, but do it so damn lazily. This was literally just a copypaste job with a few operative words replaced with close synonyms. Same sentence structure and everything. Kids who plagiarize in middle school usually put forth more effort.

Isn't this not the first time they get caught doing this? I recall hearing a DLC for Fallout 4 was straight up ripped off from a custom mod expansion for new vegas a fan had made.
It was a sidequest in a Vault in Far Harbor that ripped of the NV mod Autumn Leaves, yes. It's a real shame, too, considering Far Harbor is genuinely one of the best things about Fallout 4.

Holy shit. Miucin's disease etc. etc.

The rewording is particularly gross in how it kills the prose and turns it into such an ugly mish-mash of literary and vernacular language ("nothing beats the desert" and then in the next sentence "enormous dunes roll across the landscape").

Anyway, Bethesda landing in legal trouble given how zealously litigious it is is... ironic.

Or, in less diplomatic terms, supremely hypocritical. :D

So uh... Has it not been posted that this wasn't official? At the Netherlands studio the campaign was made just for a few employees. It was hosted on drop box and so when the ESO twitter handler found out they posted the link. It wasn't meant to be used as anymore than just for those employees.

I'm thinking of writing a series of fantasy books for seniors called The Elder Strolls.

Planned volumes as follows:
Dangerfall
Tomorrow's Wind
Oblivious
DryGin

Can't imagine anyone having a copyright problem with that, right?

imagine hating a company so much you dont give a shit about facts.
Which fact do you purport I'm misrepresenting? Or are you just upset at people for pointing this out as well? Again, nobody thinks anyone plagiarised besides the person that did. Nobody is representing that that happened. So it's not a defense to pull out facts like they're being misconstrued - they aren't.

You should have read the article. This was meant to be a private campaign among some employees and the people in charge of the Twitter uploaded it wholesale.

Official Staff Communication

Given the volatility in recent Filip Miucin related threads we have decided that some clearer guidelines are required to cultivate healthier discussion.
  • Do not enter these threads in bad faith. If we conclude that your goal is to misrepresent the concerns of other users or rile people up, you will be moderated. Intent matters here. Honest questions or commentary about the differences and similarities between the Bethesda and other Tolkien Derivatives are fine. Deliberately and dismissively attempting to troll concerned members on those topics is not okay. These discussions must be held in good faith and in a civil manner.
  • As a reminder, antagonizing or engaging in personal attacks on other members is still against the rules. We have a large community with a wide range of preferences and personal priorities. Not everyone will feel the same way as you do on any given topic. If you feel a post is breaking a rule please report it and do not respond with hostility. If you choose to engage do so politely. We always check to see which users have a history of trouble in this area.
  • It is perfectly acceptable to want more previews and promotional media while waiting for a game or expansion to be released. (ex: "What are my pre-order options?") It is not acceptable to troll threads because of the lack of journalistic integrity in marketing tactics (ex: "So the real PC release is going to be a year later.") The latter is needlessly inflammatory and distracts from discussion. We will be scrutinizing these posts more closely going forward.
  • Do not advocate, defend, or admit to piracy under any circumstances. This is explicitly against our Terms of Service. There are no justifications that will make this acceptable.
Addendum: It's fine and often healthy to be critical of media coverage (ex: "I don't think this article is good and here's why"), but please avoid going down any rabbit holes with excessive vitriol and conspiracy theories (ex: "This outlet is clearly paid off because I don't agree with their coverage"). We've long had a general policy against hyperbolic vilification of the media and that rule has not been suspended.
