Best hair rendering (not favorite hairstyle, but actual good looking hair rendering technique)

I like the way that looks since hair barely moves in most other games, but ultimately that looks more like pieces of cloth blowing in the wind.
FFXV in-game is more complex and convincing.

It was my first thought when seeing this cutscene for the first time on my TV.
I expected the usual offscreen bite, or a camera angle which hides how the burger gets bitten into.
It's so looks so good, squishy and soft!
Seriously. Never got the praise for Arthur's beard graphics. He's got like 8 strands making up the entire beard.

I said back then! Nowadays it's more common but in the 90s? You had to be Japanese to have a snowballs chance in hell to get Mario in your game.

Speaking of hair rendering, something weird happens to Alexios' hair during cutscenes in Assassin's Creed Odyssey where the colors look...off? Like it almost starts to blend in with the background in dark scenes. And I don't think it's a contrast issue, I'm playing on an LG OLED. I'll take a picture if nobody is able to guess what I'm talking about.

All of the hair movements shown in the GIFs of this game seem extremely exaggerated.
Sad face that they cut that scene from the final game, along with Duscae's vastly superior lighting.

Gods, this gif gives me life just from the hair alone.
It only gets thick strands at length 8 and above. It's praised because it's the best beard rendering and it looks even better in motion. It bends and folds properly, unlike Kratos' beard which clips through his own body and armor when he turns his head. If you play the game, you'd understand how incredibly impressive the beard tech is. Even random NPC beards have proper physics.

RE Engine hair is incredible but I don't know how they messed up Claire's hair. One of the worst pony tails in games!
Realtime. Watch Digital Foundry's breakdown of DMC 5. The game is just a technical marvel. The RE engine is some real voodoo shit with what it can put out even on the somewhat meager base consoles.

Lady and Dante looks great but Trish less so. You can really notice she has 3 big physics group in her hair (back and the two sides). All the strands from the right side of her head all move in perfect unison like it's been glued to an invisible paper sheet.
Yes and i'm not sure, in my last investigation i made the conclusion what RE engine it's complete new with little stuff from the buried Panta rhei engine.
While other games have more impressive hair tech I absolutely love that they gave Chloe's hair different states that changes dynamically during the gameplayNot sure bout rendering, but Uncharted: Lost Legacy most definitely has some of the best realistic hair aesthetics in terms of detail. The nuances, like when characters get sweaty or their hair is wet (as opposed to dry) are commendable.
She also fixes some of the loose strands again during quieter moments
Im playing rdr2 now and the enviornments are gorgeous and it's open world but goddamn the hair for characters that aren't Arthur are sometimes really bad.
