Your timeline is just a tiny bit off. He was saying gross stuff in 2012, which is 7 years ago, while he was in his 40s. And the renouncing of the Armenian Genocide was more than once, yes, because he kept putting out mealy-mouth milquetoast statements.

Im glad he endorsed him Cenk is who we need to win, has he said stupid stuff in the past yes but he has disavowed most of it years ago way before he planned on running for anything and either way nothing he has said in the OP or has come out that he hasnt said he fucked up on has any bearing on whether he supports the right policy decisions.

There can be a discussion on whether Cenk Uygur is a good candidate for Congress or not. However, many of the misogynistic comments made by Uygur were in the last few years, and they have been condemned by LGBTQ+ groups and women's groups in the area. As such, please keep this in mind and do not excuse the comments or dismiss concerns and objections to Uygur as bad faith attacks.

This is going to be a disaster for Bernie in California. You won't stop hearing from this race in Cali. Pete's team will MAKE SURE you hear what an absolute tool Bernie has endorsed.

That's hyperbolic. I don't think most people know who Cenk is. Pete's team can try but I have serious doubts as to its effectiveness.

And it's not like there's any particular reason that he might feel that way lol...To frame this as surely being about fealty to him specifically sure is a choice. Like no way there could be a presumedly justified degree of ideological agreement or anything.

Cenk has said problematic things and done really good things for the Party. It's up to Californians like me to decide on whether that means he's worthy of a seat.
I think there are likely better candidates there though. I'd have to check them out. If it was between him and like Rand Paul....it's not a contest, go with Cenk but you know....we have actual options here.

I agree. More accurately I was a bit stunned by some of the bans here, but tbh not at all surprised by where the contours of acceptability are on the Obama thing. Not that my lack of surprise should denote a lack of disappointment.
The sexist remarks by Cenk are for sure a problem, but the fact of the matter is, we are in urgent need of more non-corruptible progressives elected.
Imagine the ads with Bernie's imagine overlapped over all the ugly stuff Cenk has said. Pete's campaign is willing and ready to go there.
Why risk this becoming a bigger issue than it should be? Specially with California probably being a nail-biter?
