Agreed, his hosting skills are amazing, this is exactly the kind of thing that I'd like to see him do if he's not going to stay at GI.Wherever he went, he needed to be the host and not just someone else on the panel so I think this is the best fit for him.
I've already backed them, but there's some other Game Informer guys that need to get onboard with this thing. Leo Vader, Joe Juba, Ben Reeves and Dan Tack in particular. I'd add Javy to that list but I know he managed to find a seemingly great position after the layoffs.
Agreed. This is a bad time to work for floundering legacy publications. Get out while you're on people's minds and use that social capital to start something new that is owned by the talent.
Only if they can get Dan Ryckert to come and pester him the whole time lol :PAlso...Jeff M super replay equivalent of Ninja Gaiden 2 on NES...please?
He's up there with the great Ryan DavisI think Ben is the best host I've ever heard on a game podcast. Possibly on any hosted podcast. Good for him! Not surprised in any way shape or form though.
It says in the Patreon post that they'll look to bring more people on if the total monthly amount allows for it. Gotta cover their living expenses after all.It was only a matter of time I guess. Do you think more people will leave GI to join Ben & the crew?
The GI magazine isn't gone?!with gameinformer gone, what other physical english language magazines were left? Edge........what else?
Not really for current gen stuff, but Retrogamer keeps on trucking and is still fantastic. Its the only gaming magazine I read now.with gameinformer gone, what other physical english language magazines were left? Edge........what else?
Well, I guess there is Nintendo force, If you count that. It's a magazine run on patreon funnily enoughwith gameinformer gone, what other physical english language magazines were left? Edge........what else?
Well sure, but for now it's still alive. Question is for how long. With the layoffs and the whatnots, i don't need to be Nostradamus to see the impending future of GI Magazine.
I REALLY hope they make Alexa choose your own adventure game playthroughs a regular thing. That Jurassic World one is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
Not happy with his new home at Kinda Funny?I wanted Imran to do something similar. There is/was so much talent at GI and it sucks that it is shackled to GS.
Split four ways that's not enough to live off yet, though. Hopefully it'll push past 10k over the coming days.Holy fucking shit dude has nearly 5000 bucks already. I think I underestimated the draw of the Game Informer podcast.
He's the main reason I've listened to the GI podcast for so long.
Ohhhh, it's MinnMax with two Ns because they're based in Minnesota.
Ooooooohhhhhhhhhh.
It clicked when I heard in their announcement video that they'll be working with freelancers from around Minnesota, and I thought to myself "Huh, that's specific. Guess they like their hometo- OHHHH"
