VGTech has done their tests on Bayonetta and surprisingly it is 1440p on both the Pro and the X despite it being advertised as 4K on the Xbox store. When base consoles are running it at 1080p this resolution parity is always so dissapointing.

Framerate is at least solid 60FPS on all platforms.

Assume Vanquish will be the same, dissapointing for such old games but I'll still dip in for 60FPS Vanquish for sure.

Bizarre. Even a pretty old, outdated PC can cut through this game like butter at 4k60

That's a shame. Fantastic games but Pro and X should be able to handle these at 4K/60 no sweat I'd imagine.

Shame as I was very tempted. Guess Ill just stick with the backwards compatible ones which were available with xbox gold.

Looks like the Pro already drops frames with a lot of alpha effects on screen. I'd imagine those instances would be really severe and jarring at a higher resolution.

Is that version 720p? And 30fps in Vanquish's case.

It's a game that originally ran on a 512MB RAM system like the X360, hardware from 15 years ago. The fact a 2020 port on even 2016-2017 hardware doesn't reach 60fps@4K is disappointing. Not unplayable, mind, but they could have surely done a better job.

I wonder if they just haven't optimized for these newer consoles and the power is just going to brute forcing it?

I might wait to play mine until PS5 comes out and see if it gets some kind of boost from that. Probably not but I'm not in a hurry to play them anyway.

The only possibility for that is if the resolution is uncapped during gameplay. It doesn't seem to be the case, so unless there's an specific patch in the future, this is how both will look in next-gen systems.

Really getting tired of games being advertised as "4K" when that really means "supports 4K output but runs at some other arbitrary resolution."

Do they do any comparisons to the backwards compatibility enhanced version?
