Battlestate Games reprimand employee’s “woman cant handle war stress” for lack of female playable character in EFT, cite game lore as reason instead

Battlestate Games, developer of Escape From Taskov, has one of its employee explain that (3 years ago in an interview) there is no female playable character in the game, because woman can't handle the stress of war.

Is there going to be character customization in Escape from Tarkov?
Not right now, but it's a good suggestion; maybe later. Though when you have played a lot, your beard will grow.
Did you consider having female characters playable?
We considered that, but we came to the conclusion that women are not allowed to be in the war.
But these days, women are in the military...
I can agree with you and we discussed it for a very long time, but we came to the conclusion that women can't handle that amount of stress. There's only place for hardened men in this place.

The studio today claims that the statement isnt an collective official stance. The employee was reprimanded.

the studio indicate that there is female characters, just in non-playable roles, because of the game lore, and that it takes a huge amount of work to make female playable character.
