I wonder if this disaster of launch will actually delay the possible 2023 Battlefield. Or they'll cut support for 2042 at mid 2022?

Like, it's the least of the games problems for sure, but just why?

I can see them starting to sell those outro mannerisms and/or quips as MTX. Have Sundance swoop in on her squirrel suit instead of just walking etc.

They have sold one years worth of 2042's content support already to a lots of people via paid game pass, so it will get at least same kind support as V did.

Tbf, the year 1 pass only promises 4 new specialists and 4 battle passes. Since maps and Portal support are free, EA gets to decide how much of them we get.

I feel like they should have just delayed it a bit if they are able to fix so much so quickly?
Remember they did delay it a bit. So it was probably another optimistic projection that fell short. So they just fired it off and rolled out the updates ASAP.

'features' like the available revivers nearby when downed is basic stuff that reeks of just running out of dev time. They don't even call these patches 1.1, 1.2 etc... it's sub 1.0.

EA should have pulled a Mass Effect and pushed it to March at the earliest. Instead we get this.

Yep my entire team are saying the same thing (can't turn left or right) myself included.

It thinks we are in a vehicle. Same bug from 2 patches ago, but this time dying doesnt reset it. You'll notice your FoV is set to vehcile FoV too (if differnt).

Amazing

Feels tighter on PS5. Didn't notice any weirdness in a whole round.

Where are the weeklies hiding? Don't see them on the front menu.

Seems like mouse works just fine in vehicles, but on foot it's fucked.

Go to Mouse & Keyboard>Edit key binding>Movement>Restore to Default>Delete keybinds for mouse look up and mouse look down>exit the menu screen entirely>go back in and rebind mouse look up and down.... And ruin all your other keybinds

Didnt work for me. I had to delete my Battlefield Documents folder. Then it broke my helicopter controls so I had to redo those.

Will this update fix the dreadful spawn screen? Pretty much everything about it is bad, from visibility, to ease of selecting squad mate/point to spawn, and the surely broken 'in combat' thing?

Lot of nice fixes but they really go and screw up other things for the different versions.

It doesn't help they are trying to work on 5 different versions of the game at the same time with unique problems for each.

Still hasn't fixed the Xbox controller weirdness I get on pc. Sometimes my aim will just randomly jerk a direction for a second then stops. Not a huge deal but really weird

Tried it on PS5

Indeed menu is 30fps for, stability reasons I guess?

Game feels more polished... It still doesn't fix the core problems:

- maps are too fucking big with no real cover for infantry

- Not enough vehicles allowed at once to compensate for the traversal required

- SQUADS ARE EFFECTIVELY USELESS NOW.
No one follows objectives and the game no longer kicks a squad leader for failing to set them. This was BASIC STUFF in prior games.

- specialist means fuck all as far as coordination. People just run off and do their own thing. I initially thought this would get better after the beta... But people are still, by and large, fundementally playing AGAINST the strengths/intent of the game.

As a franchise fan since 2000, the core loop is just... So damn wrong and off

Devs really need to take back control of GAME DESIGN and stop trying to make everything super open ended with "CHOICES & GAMEPLAY STYLES FOR EVERYONE!" to appeal to everyone. Want spawn logistics?! No you don't! Spawn everywhere!

Designing an overly open ended sandbox game isn't for every game…most of the time, limitations and forcing players to play as designed is the better choice. I'm sick of games trying to be something for everyone. Fuck that

I'm really starting to not like games anymore. Never thought I'd say that but I just don't like the general direction of game design philosophy in the industry across the board…no matter the genre. Bleh!
