I still can't wrap my head around these maps being too big. I think Dice nailed it, I remember MAG back in the day and that wasn't really fun. I think they've created multiple frontlines and the battle naturally progresses through a couple of different flavours. Who needs Metro when you're eventually due one every game.

It's pretty great in Breakthrough though I have no opinion for Conquest since I barely played that. My complaint is there's too many open lands and not enough buildings. Probably why people think there's not enough destruction since you don't see it much.

Two games in a row I loaded into a game as it just got underway and not having the dumb intro or forced spawn is fucking amazing

Tornado appearing RNG need to chill a bit, I think.

They still look incredible though but I want to see a game where it doesn't rain lol

Its the most pointless thing ever. Even if you wanted to set a trap and try to take out infantry or vehicles by using that system, it takes so long that its not even feasible. I wish there was more to these kind of interactions and events.
Oh yeah, actually taking people out with it is pretty much impossible and will get you shot well before it drops. It be better if it could be initiated from above or inside the ship to catch people out.

It does help to open up the D1 objective, so it's not completely pointless.

Well, I've done exactly what I said I was going to do when I picked up 2042, I've played BC2 maps extensively since launch, as if it were a main mode. But I'm the same person that played the BC2 Beta and BC1 Demo as if they were full games. For literal tens of hours. Something that I've noticed about their design is their very clear map boundaries. For example, on Arica Harbor point 2 attack, snipers like that high ledge roof sightlines, so if you avoid those, you don't have to worry about snipers. If it's been too quiet or the enemy just won't go away, there's probably someone just spawning all their teammates in the structure closer to the beach. It's stuff like that, it's just a process of elimination in terms of what you need to do and where you want to go. Stealth is something that's entirely doable.

Oh yeah, and I've switched my PS5 to the PS4 Pro version and it's much more fun. It runs at like 1800p 60fps which tbqh might be an improvement over 55-60fps 4K. That and to be really real here... the reduced graphical settings make the game far easier to read. That's my truth. When I go back to the PS5 I'm gonna turn as many visual options as I can off.
It's funny I kind of like the intro. It's one of the things I miss when I play vanguard since they don't have intros like other cod games.
I don't mind them, but probably it just has too many cuts. The composition of the little reel has each clip last just a little bit too long and there's just one or two too many.

I have to admit, some times when you're not done prepping, it's satisfying to just redeploy on forced spawn and start when you're ready and don't have to pointlessly run

Anyone else feel like that visual recoil increases disproportionately when moving up in optic magnification? It might just be me but the jump feels significantly larger than it should be. Even going from 1.25 to 1.5 feels like the gun is bouncing around way more.

I just switched over to some BF3 Conquest and something about it is so much easier to control the weapons. Even with the Holo sights, which have more zoom than they do in 2042, are more stable and easier to keep on target

Man I don't know how y'all Breakthrough players stay sane lol.

Tried dipping in abit to mix it up and just about went crazy attacking and watching out team constantly being unable to reach a point while our team spam spawns Nightbirds. Literally take one Condor spawn and hot drop people in the back and we take the points in minutes.

Atleast in CQ when Nightbird shits horde all the spawns I can atleast drive to points without eating 15 M5s and 5 tanks the second I leave our spawn point.

You could do it in BFV with the pathfinder role as a sniper.

I wish they kept those defined roles. You can kind of do that with the custom loadouts but I wish they extended to or included Specialist selections for them.

Same. Been playing online since BF2 and the maps don't feel too different from those.

They addressed this artificial visual recoil in BF4 I think, they cut it down then but I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of those things they lapsed and forgot people hated.

Yeah the BF3 guns feel GREAT, the 2042 ones feel like they have a tad too much recoil, which probably isn't the best when you need to attack 3 guys at once with how often you can run into teams.

Yep moving up anything further than 1.25 feels like my screen is just shaking giving me a damn seizure it's terrible.

Glad it's not just me. Haven't seen anyone mention this yet and I feel like it's something that would be a relatively easy fix that would kick the gunplay up a notch. Even since they adjusted the inaccuracy, it still feels a bit sloppy compared to previous games, and it makes it hard to choose the right optic for the engagement distances this game has. The Plus System doesn't really help when most optics feel unreliable.

It can work in Breakthrough pretty well, but switching over to Conquest and once you take an objective you either stay there, which is boring, or move on to another objective, 300-600m away which is also boring.

In other words they basically got rid of the front line tug of war between objectives, now it's just open fields of like 4 dudes running through them getting sniped trying to get to the next objective. Eventually, once you actually do get to another objective, chances are you're by yourself or a few dudes and you're up against the 10 dudes that spawn or stayed at the objective, aka you aren't gonna get it because 90% of your team is fighting for one cluster for 80% of the match. That's not including getting farmed by helicopters on the way to the objective, in which they can just have a field day with you.

It would work if people split off into groups of like 20 for conquest but that simply doesn't happen, it's always one giant zerg with a few soldiers scattered to protect the other objectives in very small groups. It's a shame because on a good Conquest map like Propaganda or Karkand you feel that tug of war and it's really immersive since everyones closer together naturally. That's why people like Metro so much, it's tug of war in a meatgrinder personafied into it's simplest form.

Played like 30 matches of Hazard Zone. Made it out once. Damn game needs voip. Whoever didn't put this in is a moron. Let's have a strategy game mode where you can't talk to your teammates.

I expect HZ to be dead within a month or two, even if they add VOIP. Just not enough long-term hook. It seems to be the logical one to drop, since Portal and AOW are the main modes.

This is obvious when you use the LCMG. that's why I just use the holo sight, at a medium distance it's easier to hit a target than with any other magnified sight.

Just tried to get a refund on Origin via support chat but was denied because apparently the system didn't allow it since I bought the game too long ago and it was also a pre-order. Makes no sense since I bought it not even a week ago and that was after the game was released. But the lady explained that this was what the system told her. No idea if this was true or not. I am not surprised though. Didn't expect to get a refund but worth a try.

This slowdown bug on Xbox is pretty annoying. No idea what triggers it either

Hoping Update 3 fixes it

This is my biggest problem right now with the XsX version, can even go lower than what you show with a complete image freeze for 2 or 3s (while audio is still going on...). It still happens quite regularly, often on Hourglass but also on other smaller maps like discarded or manifest, and even if I force quit the game afetr each session. I really hope they solve it for the next patch as this is my #1 request (and then add a console only crossplay option as #2).

Is there a chance DICE realise 128 players is a mistake and revert back to 64 players as the default conquest/breakthrough mode? I feel this would help a lot in term of gameplay, performance, netcode issues...
Not as the default but the last gen consoles play on smaller maps with 64 players and the bot matches are the same so there is no reason they couldn't implement a "Conquest/Breakthrough small" playlist.

Over the course of the franchise, which maps would you say had the best balance between infantry/vehicle gameplay? Caspian is an all-time great there, I feel, or Zavod.

Dragon Valley BF4 remake is the greatest map for that. From tank to boat, from sniping to CQC, there was a part of the map for everyone to enjoy.

Did anyone recently had a bug like this one : when revived, the view point stays down and I can see my body moving around while I move the joystick. Then view and character "reconnect" after 2 or 3s. Only started to happen to me 2 or 3 days ago...

Every game I play is just buggy and I really want to play this game but it's impossible to enjoy.

Game 1 I can't respawn because I'm in a wall, game 2 there are guys in my team with the enemies orange skin running around, game 3 it spawns me with a dmr and I can't change it unless I completely quit the game and rejoin because every other weapon slot is just blank. Just feels like a giant waste of time
