You could have 2 tanks (MBT or MAA), 2 attack aircrafts (jet or helo) and 2 transport aircrafts (little bird or full transpo).

That is total of 6 "special" vehicles per team, 12 total. On 128 player server map can have 40 vehicles at any given time so in theory it leaves 28 quads, tesla trucks and such buzzing around. I also assume those robodogs count towards 40 cap as they were in vehicle spawning menu.

4 aircraft per team is a lot and especially when players did prioritize attack helos over jets and little birds over transpos, so air to ground attack power was immense. Compounded by pure trashfire AA solutions that wouldn't hit aircraft even if launched inside of one.
Even ignoring the fact they probably went for too many air vehicules compared to tank, yeah this is mostly another example of why giving too much freedom of choice lead to bad balancing, which is something many people have said about that vehicule spawn system since bf1.

And somehow they thought it was a good idea to bring that same problem with the removal of the class system/full freedom of choice for gadget and weapons.
true, there were too many air vehicles in the beta, while only 2 armored vehicles were possible + the humvee. I think that they have a limited number of slots for vehicle, and if you add all the quads, humvee already waiting close to the flags + the possible vehicle drops, maybe this was the main factor for limited armored spawn. If that's the problem they could reduce the number of land vehicles available on the map, have a self destruct timer for damaged and abandoned vehicles (BFV has it, I don't think 2042 has it or the timer is too long), and lastly reduce the air vehicles number which is clearly too high. Will they do it ? We don't know...
In addition to bug which often showed that you could call in a vehicle, yet you couldn't. There was a very clear problem ( or total lack of ? ) with self destruct timer for damaged and abandoned vehicles. On the laste day I was often trying to do some dumb shit with the jeep and trying to run over ennemies etc.. And very quickly in matches it becomes close to impossible to call a new vehicle, and you end up checking the map only to see every transport vehicle abandoned on the map, often actually stuck on obstacles...

Just refunded my preorder. I'm still hoping that Portal mode turns out good, but there's no guarantee that controller problems get fixed by launch and console version doesn't support mouse/keyboard (at least not yet), so I rather not risk it with preorder.

Hell Let Loose is really scratching my Battlefield itch as the wait for 2042 continues. The slower, more tactical pace is a great complement.

Well people said they wanted more Battlefield 4. Here you have another BF game with the Battlefield 4 launch quality.

As I keep saying this is the Specailist that is gamebreaking; he'll be the all arounder since we have super-quick health regen in this game.
The main thing I am wondering is if he revives to full health plus the 20. Falck has the trait of full revive, so I wonder if this new one is only half plus 20? Seems kinda pointless if that is correct. Also, makes Falck redundant. She was old, so time to retire.

Well health regen makes healing gadgets pointless vast majority of the time anyways unless you & your squad play super-aggresesive.

Actually I think these sound pretty fun and balanced, though a few tweaks would be for the best.

the biggest issue rn is the free form gadget slot and fast health regen really kill teamplay. Less selfish abilities also help immensely

But I think the current specialists really suck

-Falk is a crippled medic. Health regen is too fast and her revive gun is shit.

-Mackay needs a serious nerf. I dont mind that he can grapple things but he should also be able to setup zip lines for teammates. Way too selfish of an operator

-Boris seems too situational to me. His passive really should just include something oriented towards repairing things. There seems to be no operator that is a good mechanic.

In general, I hate the idea of auto turrets. Would be an amazing op if they had fortifications still

-Casper seems pretty fine, though his radar trait seems really gimmicky to me(afaik it just senses when someone is around but never really lets you know where. Overall seems too weak). Would be better if he could remain undetected by the operator who marks enemies and had a shorter spotting ping

It makes much more sense if Falk could still revive teammates from a distance.

Falk was supposed to be the super healer and this dude would be an all rounder. Rn, Falk just is a selfish self-healer

fixing revives, buffing falk, and slowing health regen will help the games balance a lot better

Hot take is that it's 1:48 because it was all they were able to record over 8h workday because game is so unstable.

Has there ever been a long bf trailer? Even all the gameplay trailers I can remember were only about 2 minutes long.

Does DICE typically release a blog or something after their betas discussing feedback that'll be addressed in the final release?

I've watched a few CoD players on YouTube playing the beta and for the most part they all seem to love it. They say the movements and gunplay are on point and that it's a beautiful, chaotic game. EA / DICE going for the CoD / Warzone crowd and it seems to be working.

The ground vehicle handling was honestly as bad as GR: Wildlands in this Beta. Any update on plans to address that, surely Criterion haven't just been working on that alone.
I disagree strongly. I experienced plenty of lag/rubberbanding problems but driving the ground vehicles (especially the buggy) was always fun and making big jumps (complete with character vocalizations) and rocketing out of control downhill was always exhilarating.

Ghost Recon Wildlands vehicles in the beta/demo were basically just wearing a vehicle costume around your body and running really fast ala that Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction stealth mission, you were glued to the ground, couldn't jump or ramp off of anything, never had trouble climbing hills, etc.

I'm curious if Hazard Zone will strictly be squad-based or if there'll be a solo/free-for-all component to it (not sure how Tarkov works in that regard).

Don't kill the messenger.

This just seems to dumb to be real. Did they not plan on making MP? Did they want to make a BR first, and then jam the MP after?? That theory always felt like fanfiction.

Also, I still maintain BR would have been really good for this game. Blackout's BR felt fun because it mixed the grounded military shooter with the sandbox gadgets, and that would have been fun to see here. I think Hazard Zone is a great alternative, but I worry it will be really half-assed.

if they are using the maps from the game, they need to really add a lot more cover and objects to make it feel dense. Orbital alone as a map for example would be pretty awful for Hazard Zone. Its too small IMO. Arent games like Tarkov the size of PUBG's OG map?

I think that a BF game having BR like elements is normal even if it wouldn't have been created as one in the first place. We already had stuff like self healing, which had stop being a thing in favour of auto regen until BRs, contextual pings, etc.

Battle Royales simply influence a lot of designs elements due to how popular they are.

Tried the beta on PS4 base out of curiosity and it was quite an interesting experience. I think the game on PC could def run better on lower end hardware if we were allowed to go as far as the PS4/Xbox One version does in order to improve performance. Game on base last gen consoles is like two tiers below the lowest option on PC.

Other than that, the game felt pretty good in terms of flow. It was tight and consistent, but yeah, it felt a lot like the BF4 beta on PS3. Only that above 25 fps

I did, but it was clearly not ready. Lots of UI issues, and the setting/locations were not great.

But the environment/graphics, vehicle gameplay, "events" around the map, armour system, etc. were all so good that Warzone did the same thing.

It just feels like often, BF's engine holds the game back severely. I dont understand how they otherwise continue to have such big problems with UI

Sure, that's a bit more vehicle physics than handling, which BF2042 does just ok apart from the Beta bugs like the wonky flip outs and roll overs. Really can't say the same for military vehicles and the civilian trucks on PC, they responded sluggishly to inputs, ran on road surfaces like skates especially when you boost, and good luck if you strike a rock while doing it. Honestly more like Wildlands after its release (pretty sure UBI did fuck all to sort that out even with Breakpoint).

At times the EBAA Wildcat would struggle to climb moderate incline parts of the hills connecting A to C sectors.

I hope DICE are working on the gunner camera jitters and things like tanks taking 20 vehicle damage from exploding civilian vehicles being run over. The latter is just stupid.

LevelCap's wrap-up video is almost word for word what my impressions are after the beta. I'd just add that controls on console need to be improved but he's on PC so he probably didn't realize it. Basically game is fun, Specialists just need to be adjusted to fit better into a class structure, still a lot of unknowns (but promising ones) with the other modes.

It's only been a few days and I'm missing the beta pretty bad lol. It really grew on me.

Gonna have to dive into BFV this week and see if I can scratch the itch
