PS4 version has no date. I wonder if some limited disc print will be made. Could be successful.
Can't help but feel both these questions would be answered by reading the thread. I mean for the latter it's mentioned as early as the 40th post.
To be fair, the "Maid" in the title refers to the Maid of Orléans: Jeanne d'Arc herself. The banner she carried is an important plot point in the game.
That's bloody disingenuous and rude, and you should apologize to that member. Especially considering:Wearing a skirt is "sexed up"? Thats as creepy as the big titty artwork.
...Yeah.I was replying while reading, hadnt seen the full image at that point.
Exactly. And it's not like they didn't have some good inspiration in Rose of Versailles for making female military officers look amazing and attractive. All the men look aesthetically pleasing too so it's not like you have to choose between appropriate designs and attractive. Hell I say when they go over board on trying to make these designs fan service-y it makes them less appealing.
I quite like the design of the lady in red in the image you posted. Get rid of the high heels and give her some appropriate boots and while not entirely realistic would at least fit a lot better.
Same here, concept sounds great but I can't get down with thisI was so excited by the description, especially since I had just finished watching Rose of Versailles... and then I saw the designs. SRPG is my favorite genre, but even then I won't support a game with such hyper-sexualized designs.
Same again here. I like the concept of taking notes from a less-well-used-in-games style of period dress and letting the peninsular war inform an SRPG, as opposed to general medieval stuff, but bolting on the same unimaginative, bog-standard templated sexualisation of half the cast (who in places look very young) means I'll skip it. Completely unnecessary.Same here, concept sounds great but I can't get down with this
Barbie anatomy is actually true to life. We are incapable of wearing anything else.

Assuming you quoted me with my obvious disdain for the garbage art with this response intentionally?
???????????????????I'll never understand why this genre became inseparable from anime porn. Just why?

The character designs appeal to me, but let me show you what doesn't.
This is just an example. ALL of the text is like this. It actually hurts my head to read. I put in for a refund just now. Not supporting translations with quality this low.
I exaggerated, but Fire Emblem is now part dating sim. Disgaea might not be nearly as bad, heck not even bad, but far from "grounded". FFT was my first SRPG, there are no games like that anymore. You're right that recent western titles have been good. I did exaggerate, I apologize :P I just wish we had more stuff like FFT and Tactics Ogre, something more serious and grounded.Unless your definition for "anime porn" is very broad I'm not sure what you're talking about. The big franchises, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, Disagea, etc. are nothing close to the character designs in this. The more popular recent indie entries, Fell Seal, Wargroove, etc. likewise are nothing close. In fact the only thing similar I can think of is Eiyuu Senki, which is more visual novel than SRPG.
Fire Emblem Conquest literally ends with the main character running head first into Camilla's beasts (in 1st person) and falling to the ground after bouncing off them. At that point, the camera spends entirely too long zooming right into her cleavage, to the point where the entire screen is covered by breasts. Which is made even worse by the whole incest thing Camilla constantly has going on with the main character.Unless your definition for "anime porn" is very broad I'm not sure what you're talking about. You might want to specify which Fire Emblem, because Nowi, Tharja and Camilla exists. In fact, in terms of fan service crap, I've gotten more from some Fire Emblem like Awakening and Fates than Banner of Maid, which as I said doesn't actually feature any perverted content apart from some of the character art themselves. So let's not act like Fire Emblem has been completely innocent just because their latest entry was doing better in this regard.Unless your definition for "anime porn" is very broad I'm not sure what you're talking about. But about this game, yeah it's that kinda game. Tough game to sell to the peeps here and I can understand where they're coming from, but Xenoblade 2 also has a lot of fans and that game feature even more ridiculous female designs. Era truly has diverse users.
I think I'll pass on this game.
I vaguely remember this. Its got some of the cringiest character designs for objectifying women as I recall. I mean this random screenshot I just grabbed from Google. Why has a military officer got her jacket open with her tits out?
It's painfully bad....
How in the world is that poster mocking you? You were the first one to post the picture, they're reacting to the picture, so they quoted you. Even excluded the rest of your post to make it clear they're simply reacting to the picture.Assuming you quoted me with my obvious disdain for the garbage art with this response intentionally?
Very mature.
No one's stopping you from liking your anime titty game but no need to mock me with it.
It seemed unessecerry to quote me considering the bit they excluded to rub in my face they're only interested for the tits and the chance of maids. They could have used their own picture or simply said so in a post but no, highlight to me they want it for titties. How in the world is that poster mocking you? Are you only allowed to quote people if you agree with every word they say now?
No denying Awakening & Fates were bad about otaku pandering creepiness, but thankfully they're the exceptions rather than the rule for the series—not Three Houses. And it's been two entries without said stuff, Shadows of Valentia was fine as well.
nah, harrier in sov is pretty much worse then anything in awakening/fates. Luckily the dlc classes in feth are nothing like that. and tbh, i wouldn't put fire emblem in a healthy place regards character designs asides from Radiant Dawn and to a lesser extent PoR. I would mention feth but Kronya's pretty bad ngl.
And to bring this back to the op, games looks really interesting.
There is not. It's like older FE games where you go from one battle to the next, with some optional battles spruced in between

If they really wanted to appeal to both audiences, maybe add an option to have more realistic and less revealing female outfits.Frankly, I think it's because the creators of such games want to reach a potential audience of overlapping sectors. In other words, they don't want to limit their customers exclusively to horny people. They're consciously appealing to them as one priority target and thus running the risk of alienating those who are repulsed by the sexist or creepy elements...but also wish to see their titles remain available for purchase in mainstream online stores or retail outlets, particularly when they believe there's more intrinsic value to be found in their work.
Is it actually good? The art is just so bad (in a different way) and I read the story is quite bad.Y'all should play Fell Seal instead if you want an excellent SRPG without gross otaku pandering ^^
I have no problem with the art. The story is fine, it's not Matsuno level but it's fine on its own, and the gameplay is on par, perhaps better, than FFTactics. Is it actually good? The art is just so bad (in a different way) and I read the story is quite bad.
YessssFYI the Switch English version has been submitted and the devs are just waiting. I couldn't get the PC version running (admittedly I did minimal troubleshooting) so I'm gonna have to wait for the Switch port.

“@cwistofu Hi, the Switch port is already done and waiting for the approval process. There's no exact launch date currently for it, all we can do is wait. BTW, did you check your anti-virus method and see if the game client is blocked or something?”twitter.com
Definitely checking this out when it goes on sale.I have no problem with the art. The story is fine, it's not Matsuno level but it's fine on its own, and the gameplay is on par, perhaps better, than FFTactics.

But seriously, miniskirts+thighhighs and the 17th(?) century is so incredibly historically accurate.
That good huh? Ok, I'll try it. Is there lots of grinding (I think FFT does not, but TO LUCT does)I have no problem with the art. The story is fine, it's not Matsuno level but it's fine on its own, and the gameplay is on par, perhaps better, than FFTactics.
Nah, I didn't need to grind, though I did re-do a few battles where I missed some treasures but that's just me being a completist. That good huh? Ok, I'll try it. Is there lots of grinding (I think FFT does not, but TO LUCT does)
