Welcome to the Backlog Blitz! An ancient challenge passed down through generations!
It is here you will get the courage, strength and motivation to beat that pesky backlog! You will get points and glory for succeeding!
It is also here that no one will judge you if you "fail". Where no one will point and laugh at your negative score, for we have all been there. There is no shame.
The rules are simple:
Beating a game from your backlog gives you a point, a +1.
Acquiring a game gives you a negative point, a -1.
However you decide to count free games, DLCs and episodic games you have to be consistent. Anything that you want to count as a plus when you finish it has to be a minus when you add it. More info in the FAQ below.
And the goal is to get the highest score you can. It is not a competition, just a personal challenge!
Some sites that help you track your progress:
Backloggery - A pure backlog based site where you manually enter your games. It uses a scoring system very similar to the Blitz.
How Long to Beat - A site focused on the time it takes to beat and complete games. You can make a list of your games to track your progress and make use of handy time filters, and also provide your own completion times if you want to.
Feel free to provide other sites you use together with a short description of them, and I'll add them below!
From ApexNorth : Completionator - "The website allows you to add games you own and set them as playing. After you have finished a game you can enter how long it took and the date you completed it. It also does a lot more, for example: Creating stacks and playlists."

(Somewhat) Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How, when and where do we post our updates?
A: Most people make one structured post per month with updates on their progress. But to keep the thread active, feel free to post a couple of casual updates here and there if you want to rant about buying too many games on a sale or if you're in a completion blitz!
Q: How do we count free games like the ones from subscription services like PS+ and Game Pass?
A: Some count only the games they want to beat as additions to the backlog, so they are -1s, and then +1s when beaten, and the other games are just ignored. If you want to skip them and not count them at all then that is all good. Just be consistent!
Q: What about DLC and expansions?
A: As everything else this is completely up to you. Again, just be consistent. If they count for completion, they are also counted as additions!
Q: What goes for collections and episodic games?
A: As above, it's whatever you want it to be! Counting a season as a minus and plus one is just as okay as counting the episodes as individual minuses and pluses!
Q: Can we count endless and multiplayer games?
A: Yes! You can count them as soon as you "feel" done, or maybe you can set up a personal goal. Reach a specific rank, finish a self-imposed challenge, do whatever feels right for you.
Q: What about re-buying and replaying a game?
A: Ask yourself, is it part of your backlog? Do you personally count only new games or all acquisitions? Again, completely personal! Just don't forget consistency!
Q: What if we decide we don't want to finish a game?
A: This is also up to you! Some only count beaten games, some count anything that disappears from the backlog one way or another as a +1. Feel free to do it either way!
