Came into this thread surprised at the news. Then Slayven drops the bomb on Austin's problematic past. Then everyone here starts dropping even more shocking facts about the other PR actors. I'm not sure what's shocking me even more here. lol

All in all... i'm disappointed learning about all these problematic instances (including Austin getting arrested and being right wing adjacent). As a young child in the 90s, Austin's character was a hero I looked up to. Sad to see that + the green ranger's actor being homophobic on set to David Yost. Don't know what else to add here.

EDIT - Guess I didn't read the entire thread. Glad JDF wasn't homophobic towards David Yost.

Samuell Benta

Samuell Benta is an English actor who portrayed Will Aston, the Black Overdrive Ranger in Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive. From a very young age he has performed and taken part in many school productions but took acting seriously from the age of 17. Music has also been one of his passions...
Benta was subject to rumors following his appearance at Power Morphicon 2007, where he was accused for the disappearance of an autographed banner which was to be donated for charity at a later date. Benta had allegedly "stole" one of the banners and refused to return it, later resulting in a lengthly banning from a future appearance at the convention due to his misconduct.

On February 26, 2020, Benta released a video saying that while he indeed was in possession of the banner, it had not been autographed yet at the time and he was going to help get those autographs for the staffing committee. After getting the autographs, Benta claimed to have left the banner in a room he thought was unaccessible to fans and exited the premises to have drinks with co-stars. When he returned to the same room, it was filled with fans and the banner had disappeared. To date, the whereabouts of said banner are currently unknown.

Damnit! As a fellow brother, i'm shaking my head right now. I was hoping you were setting me up for a big "gotcha" to this story and it was gonna end on a happy note. lol :(

BUT his wiki says he's coming back as a guest at Morphicon. Guess things ended up on a positive note for him after all. What's up with these ranger actors?!

Fuck, I haven't thought about these guys in forever. I stopped watching I think shortly into the Turbo years and just never really kept up with the franchise after that point. But I've definitely heard about how little the actors got paid, and how little they make in residuals/likeness rights, even the more popular Ranger actors who get referenced a lot. The franchise definitely doesn't take care of its actors, but that doesn't excuse St. John defrauding the government and stealing COVID funds that would've been put to better use by people who actually needed them.

Re: JDF, my sensei when I was a kid was REALLY close friends with JDF and so I got to meet him once or twice, but I was a kid, so if he was a dick to people, he wasn't to me. The Rangers actors were always cool with their kid fans in those days.

That sucks he was my favorite ranger from mmpr. Anyone remember how a few years back there was a rumor saying that this guy was doing gay porn?

I hope everyone who stole ppp money goes to jail. I have friends whose businesses failed because they didn't get the first round of PPP while a bunch of assholes who didn't need it took it

A lot of people keep talking about ASH vs. JDF when the real winner is and always has been JYB.

Also, his band had some bangers.

NGL, if JYB turned out to be shit, then it would be the greatest moment when I get torn apart emotionally!

But as far as I know, he's cool. Also he's a prominent VA, voicing such notable roles as Zero, Yu Narukami, and Jonathan Joestar.

Oh no, one of you did not just slander the Bulk and Skull theme. I mean, it's fitting because they are a bumbling duo.

Also it's so 90s alongside the Angel Grove Youth Center!

Out of the original cast I'm pretty sure Amy Jo Johnson has far and away been the most successful when it comes to staying in the TV/Film business.

I'd imagine his most famous anime VA role is probably Ichigo Kurosaki

As we are often reminded by a flamboyant lawyer on youtube, the number one rule in legal predicaments is to shut the fuck up
I'm sure this will be great for his defense
