What will be interesting is if the console versions ship with a "quality mode" that targets 30FPS with better graphical features.
No one needs DLSS more than Ubisoft!
The specs for Valhalla suggest that the game's performance is very similar to AC Odyssey's actually, and that game came out 2 years ago. You needed a 2080ti/8700k for consistent 1440p/60fps, and not even with max settings.Lol not really, but it looks more demanding than usual. Like, 1080p60 at medium/high, is it possible? 1080 for 1080p60fps High is bonkers.
It's the same thing.Do we know yet if PC is getting the next-gen version or the PS4/Xbox One equivalent?
We have no idea, probably3090 with 3900xt (soon to be 5900x), 32GB and 4.0 nvme should be enough for max settings @ 3440x1440? I also plan to play occasionally in 4K/120 on the oled, but probably at dropped settings, hence I rather stick to the ultrawide
AMD will be in an interesting spot wrt RT support in "their" games during RDNA2 vs Ampere generation as adding RT into a game will likely mean that AMD h/w will start loosing to NV h/w whereas without RT they'll be tied or may even be faster. So it's not too surprising them not pushing for the inclusion of RT here.Interesting that there is no mention of RT. Would've guessed it would be a showcase for AMD RT
It occurred to me during the "PC Features" video where they talked about "We worked closely with AMD" that the reason they've been totally mum on the subject (not even saying that there won't be RT in the game) is simply because AMD hasn't shown their hand yet. They're probably under NDA to not talk about how AMD-optimized games will handle RT or if such a thing even exists.Interesting that there is no mention of RT. Would've guessed it would be a showcase for AMD RT
Look at the FPS. Probably more of a CPU bottleneck1440p60 recommends 2080 Super, but 4k30 recommend 2080... why?
Weird decision to do spec in that order for GPUs.
You'll be lucky if you manage to get 60fps at 1080p with that config.3090 with 3900xt (soon to be 5900x), 32GB and 4.0 nvme should be enough for max settings @ 3440x1440? I also plan to play occasionally in 4K/120 on the oled, but probably at dropped settings, hence I rather stick to the ultrawide
My edit came in too late :P I think 60 fps is more of a CPU bottleneckYou mean 1440p being 60FPS and 4k being 30FPS like I put into my post? 🤔
I still think it's bit weird to put lower SKU GPU for higher resolution.
This isn't EA. There's no "version" that's drastically different one to another, next-gen isn't on a whole new engine with drastically different everything. Next-gen Valhalla will be last-gen Valhalla with slightly better textures, higher rendering resolution, and higher framerate. That's it. Ditto for the PC version, which is what we've been watching this whole time. Are we sure of that or is that you assuming? Those upgraded character models don't look typical of PS4 or Xbox One, and in generational transitions PC often gets stuck with the last-gen version.
Yeah I agree. I don't even game on ultra much, I usually do a mix of high and medium. There's also Hardware Unboxed as that channel did recommended settings for Assassin's Creed Odyssey.Ultra settings are usually a waste of FPS anyway. I will wait for Alex's recommended settings.
4k/30 at ultra needs a 2080 and we still have people in other threads insisting that the PS5/XBX versions will be native 4k/60.
The same as a console owner choosing a visuals mode versus performance.
I would guess it will be dynamic/checkerboard 4k60 and they might offer an high-end, visual fidelity at 4k30. Seems the direction most games are going.probably between high and enthusiast. closer to enthusiast
im definitely doubting it will run native 4k on them if ubis claim of 60 fps is true, expecting dynamic res thats closer to 1440p than 4k
When did ubisoft games were last gen on pc during cross gen phase? Are we sure of that or is that you assuming? Those upgraded character models don't look typical of PS4 or Xbox One, and in generational transitions PC often gets stuck with the last-gen version.
No Dlss is a bummer. Will hold on playing it for few months and hopefully its there. Not to mention ironing all the bugs & jank that this franchise is know for.
