No it is not a thing. This thread right up there with the "Please charge us an extra dollar for games, dear Sony."
It's actually a worthy topic of conversation I guess but imo only if your delivery person is a contracted Amazon person who probably isn't getting paid any better than an Uber eats driver.
But if it's UPS/USPS/FedEx no, they all get paid pretty decently and have good benefits.

Even if I wanted to those dudes are like the ring and run champs of the century ..the can deliver package , ring bell and be down the block already by the time I get to the door .

I was gonna ask the reverse "is this a US thing?"
As someone in mail delivery I get really uncomfortable when someone wants to give me a small tip, usually around Christmas.
I assure you this isn't a thing in the US, either. No idea what OP is on about.
Considering the FedEx guy parks around the corner (corner lot) and walks through my garden to get to my front door, I wouldn't tip even if it was customary.

Ah well, I know there's a tipping "culture" for bar/restaurants in the US but I dunno if it's also for deliveries and such.
The only person I might "tip" is the FedEx driver (unrelated to the delivery) as my local one is family, but why would I tip a package delivery person. That just seems weird.
No. I thankfully don't live in a country where I am culturally obligated to pay the wages of somebody else's employees.
