On topic, I've been wanting a AAA Harvest Moon/Story of the Seasons game, though I doubt it'd ever happen.

I think all of the truly meme worthy dream announcements have been done outside of Half-Life 3, but a lot of the answers in this thread would excite a ton of people.
Absolutely — but they do not saturate the culture or dominate the collective mindshare they way these games did. Calling them meme games is honestly accurate. Nothing is on that level anymore.
Half Life 3 is indeed probably all that's left.

A localized version of Mother 3 (original or remake) is just a smidge below those.

I feel like an official English release of Mother 3 belongs on that list tbh. It's something from all of the memes but it's also definitely pretty mainstream. If it happened, the gaming world would erupt
Half Life 3 is the obvious one.
I think there are many dream games left though, but they just aren't sequels to games that already exist. For the most part I think they're rooted in existing franchises.
What about a Lord of the Rings rpg exceeding the quality of something like Witcher 3? That would be a dream game for me.

I can't play it either, but I disagree with those saying Alyx doesn't count. A non-VR Half-Life 3 is definitely on this list though.

I'd say the only one left is a good Pokémon MMORPG.
