Banjo-Threeie or whatever they would call a new Banjo-Kazooie platformer would be nice to have.

Whoops nevermind, I misread the OP.

On topic, I've been wanting a AAA Harvest Moon/Story of the Seasons game, though I doubt it'd ever happen.

The answers so far in this thread really answer the question for us. No, there are no more "dream games" that virtually the entire gaming community shares some degree of interest in. All that's left is genre stuff with specific audiences. The shared dreams are gone.
I think all of the truly meme worthy dream announcements have been done outside of Half-Life 3, but a lot of the answers in this thread would excite a ton of people.

Absolutely — but they do not saturate the culture or dominate the collective mindshare they way these games did. Calling them meme games is honestly accurate. Nothing is on that level anymore.

Half Life 3 is indeed probably all that's left.

Chrono Break, Half-Life 3, Megaman Legends 3.

A localized version of Mother 3 (original or remake) is just a smidge below those.

None of the other games listed ITT have the memetic following of the above.

Metroid? The one they announced a few years back. We know it exists in some capacity, just no idea when to expect it.

Half Life 3 obviously.

We also never got a remake of Final Fantasy VII.
I would add an Eternal Drakness remaster/reboot/new chapter and the return of Silent Hill.

Edit: Of course! Metroid V taking inspiration from BC-2 's comment

I feel like an official English release of Mother 3 belongs on that list tbh. It's something from all of the memes but it's also definitely pretty mainstream. If it happened, the gaming world would erupt

Half Life 3 is the obvious one.

I think there are many dream games left though, but they just aren't sequels to games that already exist. For the most part I think they're rooted in existing franchises.

What about a Lord of the Rings rpg exceeding the quality of something like Witcher 3? That would be a dream game for me.

Pikmin 4

An Opoona revival was teased in 2017 then went silent

Sonic Adventure Remake

I can't play it either, but I disagree with those saying Alyx doesn't count. A non-VR Half-Life 3 is definitely on this list though.
This one for sure. The one thing I hope for every Xbox E3.
Dino Crisis.

You deserve this.
An EarthBound/Mother trilogy rerelease/remake.
This is near top of my list too.

Panzer Dragoon Saga 1 remake/2 and Half-Life 3 come to mind.

The other two routes of Pathologic 2...

Alan Wake 2
Portal 3
Resident Evil 3.5
Metroid Prime 4 (the dream hasn't come true just yet!)
A new, proper Thief sequel

I'm sure there are more than I'm forgetting, but those are mine.

Bully 2
Sleeping Dogs 2
Final Fantasy VI remake
Something else Hotline Miami
Something in the Dark Forces franchise
A new SP entry in one of Quake, Heretic or Hexen.

So many dream games left for me. Those are just barely scratching the surface.

Remakes of Metal Gear Solid and the first handful of Silent Hill games

Marvel vs Capcom 4

New Starfox that isn't a remake of the first game

New F-Zero

US release of Mother 3

Beyond Good and Evil 2 (seems even farther away now after all the behind the scenes problems came to light)

Remasters of Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2

I'd say the only one left is a good Pokémon MMORPG.

Other then that, you're looking at "cinematic universe" situations (I.e., a Jak/Ratchet AAA game).

Off the top of my head:

1. Xenogears remake by Monolithsoft
2. Metroid Prime Trilogy HD
3. Viewtiful Joe 3
4. Jak 4

A Chrono Trigger Remake made by the Dream Team

CT is flawless, a remake would be worthless.

In the last few years we have:
Kingdom Hearts 3
Shenmue 3
Final Fantasy 7r
Half Life Alyx ( not 3 but it counts)

Are there any other games that would qualify for this category? Im not talking wish list games but games that have had a reasonable level of hype with some level of announcement.

I never thought we would get Scott Pilgrim Vs The World but even that lacks the uber-status of the games listed.

Tell me of the dreams to come.

Metroid Prime 4. Until we actually see footage of it it doesn't exist to me. Half-Life 3 would be the other one.
