Are The Cranberries still cool?

OP, The Cranberries are fine. Green Day isn't cool though.
Cranberries are cool, but green day is impossibly lame and you deserve mocking for continuing to listen to them
The Cranberries are a lot cooler than Green Day. Green Day lost their cool points when that musical hit (at least for me).
The music from The Pretenders is still really good actually. Good music ages really well, it's bad music that doesn't age well. I really wish people would realize this already.
It's not how well the music has aged that's being questioned, it's whether or not it's "cool".
Like whatever music you like without worrying about judgement? Music tastes are so different from person to person you might as well be asking if liking the color green is cool

Green Day is really good, they made some of the best albums ever in terms of quality and consistency. One of the few bands who kept staying real throughout their carreer. I only know a few songs from The Cranberries but either way music is so personal that you shouldn't judge or be judged by others to begin with.
My usual response when someone tells me music I like sucks is "I didn't ask."

Why give a shit if other people think they're cool or not. If you like them that's all that matters, and yes, they are very cool.
Cranberries are timeless as far as I'm concerned. Green Day.....not so much.
It's cool for you to listen to them if you want to but don't expect people to think you are cool for doing so. I mean they had a few hits but I've never seen anyone jamming out to Zombie and thought damn that dude is cool af.
A lot of 90s music is so overplayed in my opinion, I actually feel kind of cringe when some songs come on. Zombie is still kind of fun though because at least you get to sing along in a funny accent and yell that "ZA-HAAM-BEE..ZA-HAAM-BEE...ZA-HAAM-BEE-HEE-EEHEE-EEHEE-OH-HO OH-HO OH-HO" part in a really over the top way.

Absolutely agree. It's so sad seeing the hate Green Day gets here when they are still one of the best bands ever. I do agree, however, things changed after American Idiot, but from Kerplunk to even Warning those are still top tier Green Day.
As for music in general, yeah, look at what's popular... Mainly rap and hip hop and not really anything in between. Hell, at least in the 90s, it was at least much more varied in terms of what was on and, now, not so much. Current state of anything "mainstream" is so sad as is the state of "rock" in general....
I don't listen to them these days but still occasionally get random Cranberries songs stuck in my head coz they're fucking classic.

I loved Dolores. Her voice was so unique. Her and Pavoratti singing Ave Maria has been burned into my head since I first heard it. I think I've outgrown some genres of music and feel weird listening to them now (like most ska) but Cranberries are timeless.

I honestly find the "cool" stuff to be mainstream and boring.
They'll always be cool and when they're covered by Faye Wong they get even cooler. They were a great voice for NI at a time when when it was treated with either pity or disdain.
