Nah, I don't buy hardware for hardware's sake. Show me a must-have game and you have my interest. So far, neither have done that. So I'm looking into PC VR instead.

Leaning Xbox at the moment, but it'll come down to the launch games. I want to play Halo more than the Spider-man game or Ratchet & Clank, but we also don't know either console's confirmed launch slate yet.

Whichever one I don't get on release day, I'll inevitably pick up in early 2021 anyway. I like to own all consoles.

Nope. In for both, day 1.

I would be ecstatic if they launched on the same day. lol.

1st reply nails it.
Been enough time wondering about a new Xbox and new PlayStation to get some savings put aside, trade in both consoles (X and Pro) for some money off, job done.

Neither for me yet. The only exclusive I've seen on PS5 that I'll have to have would be the new Spider-Guy, and I can wait that out for a bit. Third party games I will likely pick up on PC sooner or later.

Xbox... whatever MS exclusives I want will be picked up on PC, so I don't really need one.

I've been all in on the Series X since day 1, will be getting at launch. Much more engrained in that ecosystem and it's where I game socially, not to mention Game Pass and Infinite...

I'll pick up a PS5 down the road though...

Ps5 because it'll have (hopefully) some games that you can't play anywhere else. I have a PC and an XbOne X so anything worth playing from MS (so.... halo?) will be on those.
But if I can swing it I'll just get both.

PS5. Probably at launch. I've been with PlayStation since the 1st one and always been happy with the games / exclusives etc.

I will most likely just be grinding Halo Infinite on PC when it comes out so I probably won't be getting the Series X at launch and with the PS5 it honestly depends what the launch titles are.

I got both consoles this gen and I've been disappointed a lot in the Microsoft's Exclusives, so I will start the next gen with the PS5 first and I will eventually play Halo Infinite on PC.

Given game pass and multiplatform games presumably performing better, I'll get XSX at launch. Only thing I'm undecided on is whether I'll get a PS5 at launch or sometime in 2021.

I'll wait for the July Xbox event. I'll probably get both, but still not sure. I know I'll end up with a PS5 eventually but if the launch lineup is focused around Spiderman, I can see myself holding off for a bit until the lineup gets more support from Sony teams.

I like Game Pass a lot, and the idea of walking out with a Series X and a shitload of games with GP is pretty appealing.

Not in the least, I'm getting a PS5. The xbox has been, and will continue to be, redundant with everything coming to PC. And it is quite frankly for the best, one less box to buy and fit in and Microsoft still gets my business when they release games I want. I only buy consoles for exclusives and everything else on PC with very few exceptions.

I know I wanna play Horizon II, a possible future TLOU3 and GOW2 so the PS5 seems like the obvious choice.

I'm a definite PS5 on launch if I can get one. I have a ton of digital games thanks to PS+ and my own buys and I'm looking forward to the vastly improved experience of using the console with snappier and presumably better UI, faster loading, better controller and better visuals, never mind the new PS5 games!

I legitimately think I'll probably own a Lockheart or Series X but I'll buy with the Game Pass Ultimate 2 year contract thing and only once there's some games I know I'll want to play (Halo and Flight Simulator when that launches).

Not really. I'll most likely be getting a PS5 since I like PS exclusives more.

Nope. Will wait for the dust to settle, and upgrade my GPU instead. Will reconsider should a launch exclusive lure me in, but I've yet to see one.

Probably not getting either. Launch lineup for ps5 looks weak. Xsx will likely be weak too, but halo should be there at least. Still, not enough to justify the cost

my PC effectively eliminates the need for any future xbox hardware. easy choice for me since there is only one choice.

Short of a miracle by Microsoft, I'll get a PS5. I may get an Xbox somewhere down the line, but I purchased an Xbox One last year in addition to my PS4 and was immensely disappointed by it.

Definitely getting PS5 at launch, leaning somewhat towards getting both. Eventually I will have both. Just might not be at launch.

I'll get PS5 when Horizon comes out.

I'll probably get XSX at launch for the 3rd party games and Halo.

I wont be getting either at launch, I think. However, the decision sounds easy for you. Guessing you have a bunch of Xbox games and the new one is bc. Halo is your favorite franchise and a new one is launching with the console. Seems simple enough. Playstation will still be there and you can get one later on.

My PC can play all of the Xbox games I care about. I'll be buying a PS5 so I can be Miles Morales

PS5.

PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 library hasn't failed me yet and neither has launch day purchases so don't see why this one will be any different!

I wouldn't say I'm torn, but I've not made my mind up yet. I mean it's really likely I'll be buying the second one fairly shortly after anyway, at least within the first year, so it's not like it really makes a big difference.

It is probably just going to come down to the line-ups. I really just love both platforms that are launching, and think they offer fantastic differences.

Most likely both, but I'm sure if there's any launch ps5 games I care about so I may wait. Gotta get the Xbox for Halo Infinite.

Thinking of just updating my PC and calling it a day. I use my consoles for movies mostly and the only somewhat important game I want is Diablo 4 so. However I will be very envious of all of my friends with the new tech.

I'm in day one for both, and if Lockhart is cheap enough I might be buying one of those as well.

As of right now it will be PS + Upgrading my PC.

How soon I jump into PS5 will entirely depend on how soon they get out their first party IP's like Ratchet, Horizon, Demon's Souls, Kena(not sure if this is first party), Spider-Man.

If only Spider-man is a release window game I'll probably wait up to a year until there are enough exclusives worth picking it up for.

Xbox will need to show me a lot more as to why I shouldn't just stick with PC given they are likely just going to be a weaker version of my PC and the few exclusives they have mentioned should come to it.

I'm not sure yet if i'll be getting one straight at launch, but if I do, it'll be a PS5. I can't justify getting a new Xbox until it has some games.

Not really. My only question is if I'll get both at/near launch or just one. Gonna be eyeing that Lockhart presentation with great interest.

I'm like 80% sure I'm getting a Series X at launch. Their July presentation probably seals the deal. But I do already have a ONE X, so maybe if Halo Infinite runs fine on that - I wait it out.

No desire to get the PS5 day one. Seems like a very light launch lineup, and better deals will hit before the big games.

I am definitely getting a Series X at launch. I need to know the price of the PS5 digital edition before committing to it, since the launch line up isn't that compelling to me.

Will use my PC for everything and get a ps5 when something compelling is actually released. I don't see a reason for a series x when I have a powerful pc.

Console generations are for suckers. I'll build a new PC when the Nvidia 3000 series cards are out and patiently wait for Sony to start releasing their first party games on Steam.

PS5 probably. Sometimes I think of getting a gaming PC again. But I had so much trouble with my last one I don't think I'm ever going PC again.

PS5 is a no brainer, just look at their output the last while.

That said I'm not loyal to Sony, it would be incredibly exciting if Microsoft managed win me over. Can't quite imagine what they'd need to pull that off.

(Talking launch obviously, will eventually own both I hope)
