Well, today is the day - or would have been the day - that we all would have been be playing Cyberpunk 2077.
I remember watching the livestream of the E3 2019 Xbox Press Conference and that moment when Keanu Reeves came out on stage - Whoa! What a moment...
...but I'm getting ahead of myself.
When I saw Keanu Reeves come out on that stage, I knew that the release date was finally going to be revealed - and by him - which was mind-boggling.
...
And when I saw the dates cycle by and settle on "April 16th, 2020" - I was semi-pissed. I thought "Wait, that's 10 more months!?!" - but I eventually [around 2 days later] coaeleced with it. I dealt with it knowing that it was a delay for everyone, not just me. You know, the kind of things you tell yourself to calm down when you are immensely disappointed.
Well, January 16th, 2020 set me straight:
It was a day that should have truly taught me the value of patience, a test of my resolve, a chance to be grown-up about my disappointment and a moment to savor how adult and mature I could be when a situation arose where I heard/read something that disturbed me greatly.
I did none of those things - actually, I was very depressed about it.
But, I digress. Here we are now, 5 months away from the new release date and it appears that this September 17th, 2020 release date is set in stone. It's a great feeling - the hype you both generate for yourself and absorb from others - the conjuring of images your mind creates about what the game will be like to play, daydreaming about the soundtrack and the sound effects, planning your Cyberpunk movie playlist for the week leading up to the release...
...all good things and definitely good times amidst the circumstances we all find ourselves in.
So tell me, Era - what went through your mind when you heard that April 16th, 2020 wasn't going to be the day that you would finally play this game? How did you deal with the disappointment of that news and what fun things are you going to do in the lead-up to the release on September 17th?
