While this isnt the 1st ac ive touched(played a bit on a friend's gamecube and own new leaf but never put any serious time into it) this is the 1st one ive highly invested myself into and whilst the game itself is amazing I want to talk about the Museum. This place took my breath away. 1st things 1st, the dynamic music is so lovely and helps set up the atmosphere of this place, it never gets old and fits like a dream
The place itself looks beautiful and despite the bugs, fish and fossils being way more realistic than literally everything else in the game, it all makes perfect sense when seeing them all in the museum.

I havent been in a museum or my zoo in decades and it inspired me to take some time to go back to one because animals have always been a soft spot for me and this game reawakened that for me.

Another huge thing it brought me back to were the dinosaur fossils/ancient fossils in general. When I was a small child I was in LOVE with dinosaurs, I use to read tons of books about them, use to memorize their complex names and everything and watch countless documentaries about them. There was a time where I actually wanted to be a archeologist, I have no idea why this dream stopped but I think I thought that I wouldnt be so smart and that there was no way I could become one... Soon my love of dinosaurs slowly faded and I don't know why it did but this game has brought the feeling back again...

Oh yeah I kinda wantt to see the last games interpretation of the Museum because apparently this is a huge step up.

As I said in the OT: The museum is really fucking great.

Just fantastic. Feels like it comes to life and that you're catches/bugs aren't just trophies. Honestly, Im so glad I haven't spoiled myself at all cause it was such a pleasant surprise.

It's the best museum in any game,* it truly emulates the sanctity of a really beautiful museum

*my sister wants me to mention Endless Ocean

It's incredibly atmospheric. I love just getting lost in it and looking at stuff. Fun to play hide and seek with friends as well.

Yeah. I absolutely love it. It has always been my favorite part in all the Animal Crossing games. And New Horizons takes it to a whole new level. Brings me back to my childhood days when I'd go catch bugs and go fishing.

It seems kind of dull, to be honest. Do your townspeople wander around it at all as more people move in?

Edit: Also, too many loading screens.

I would play an entire separate game where you manage this museum. It's above and beyond anything that could have been expected. Every visit you find a new brilliant detail, and so far it's barely filled with donations.

My environmental science student sister: "whoa they included the anchovy ball?" "how sea butterflies really do live in the arctic like that display" " oh my god there's a LAB?!"

The Museum is my favorite area of the game. I can just chill in there and relax... the music is so relaxing in there.

Even mostly empty it's still really cool looking. Made me immediately want to go to a museum (which isn't a great idea right now, of course). Just the design and mood of the place is really neat.

Yes. Probably my favorite change/upgrade so far. The little details, the changing music, everything.

I can't get over how much love was poured into all the exhibits! Walking through was such a joy. Can't wait to take another stroll inside once I've completed my collection!

Also Blathers is best boy <3

Their dinosaur fossils are pretty scientifically accurate. They even have the gastralia cage on the Tyrannochungus skeleton.

I just wish you could read Blathers descriptions at the exhibits, but otherwise, I love it.

I haven't been able to start the game yet but is it true there's no more art or Redd?

I love the villagers aligned with the tree of life, ending with humans.

ALso, the meteor crash diorama is a bit funny.

I'm sure it will be impressive when it's full, but I find it rather dull in it's early stages of completion

So far it's my favorite part of the game—it's fantastic! I'm addicted to capturing creatures now, all so I can keep populating the museum further.

If anything it should inapire to fill it out as quickly and as much as possible, while I would say I'm nowhere close to having it filled up, I do have alot of stuff in there that I'm always happy to see and it always makes me wonder what goes into what case. Like I didnt really seven pay attention to the exhibit with the giant ice in it until I got the sea butterfly

I haven't been into Animal Crossing since the Gamecube days but having watched my brother play it I was seriously impressed. I'm a huge science museum aficionado and it the new Animal Crossing museum tickles me in just the right way.

I had the tremendous privilege of somewhat inadvertently introducing AliceAmber to the museum yesterday. She was understandably stunned, and even though I'd already toured the place, so was I.

I just love how dynamic it is this time around. So many different specimens, so many unique enclosures and exhibits. I especially love how the displays get more and more intricate as you add more to it. I spent 20 minutes taking pictures with the little deep sea sub that shows up when you donate a colecanth.

It's fantastic and has made New Horizons my favorite game to collect stuff in. I love that the more you collect the more alive the museum becomes not just with the animals but with their biomes.

I (like many people I imagine) had a ton of stuff stockpiled to donate, so the fish and bug areas were already moderately populated when I first visited, and walking through it the first time legit gave me goosebumps. Immediately sent me back 25 years to being a kid wandering through the aquarium or the natural history museum. The amount of love that was poured into its design is seriously incredible. I want to hug the people responsible.

It's beautiful, I think almost everyone fell in love with the museum ^_^

It's crazy because it's like... Nintendo went and actually designed what looks like a real world museum. I'm curious who worked on it and what their background is, like did they actually have interior design experience or was this their first time doing something like this. Either way I am impressed!

Nice, wish I could visit there

A good wish. Its sublime.

Yup, I had the same reaction! I'm sure they looked at / visited a bunch of museums, but that area was really evocative of that specific one.
YES! So much this. I immediately thought of the Cal Academy of Sciences. It's really similar in feel.

God what I would give so we could go there right this instant. Right? For now, virus-free Animal Crossing will have to do.
