When I grow up I wanna be a financial analyst. Seems fun and easy.
i can safely say that pretty much everyone on era can come up with better analysis of the video game market than pachter. When I grow up I wanna be a financial analyst. Seems fun and easy.
Because Pachter is a funny and smart guy who just happens to have some dumb opinions. What I don't understand about Pachter is that on Pachter Factor I think he's fun to listen to and he has some interesting insight into the industry. But every time I see a news headline from him it's some of the dumbest shit ever.
"My personal view is that this is just not a PC game — there is flying in the game, and maneuvering your flying character is like driving a car; the controls just don't work well for that on PC, and they work flawlessly on (video game consoles)," he said.
Ohh now I want to try and get my racing wheel working with flying in Anthem haha.Wait till he find out that there are driving games on PC, and that there are way more driving games of PC than consoles, and that people don't play them with mouse and keyboard.
The flying is the least of Anthem's problems.
In fact, the flying is amazing. Even on PC. Which has many input devices available.
No one paid for that quote. I can only assume it's coded language or he has alterior motives.
I mean, I don't know how accurate this all is, but according to this site you're better off flipping a coin for stock tips than listening to Pachter: https://www.tipranks.com/analysts/michael-pachter
I just don't buy this narrative that he's actually a secret genius when it comes to analysing the industry. Too many of his comments seem to display a misunderstanding of the industry at a fundamental level.
As an update to his prediction of higher console scores on Metacritic, it has 57 on Metacritic for PS4 (which is lower).
