isn't the anime supposed to be getting a better ending?
They confirmed a 5th season so they're going to be animating the complete garbage final arc. It'll likely end the same way at this point. I'd suggest skipping the entire thing. The only "good" parts of the season are likely going to be the adaptation of the epilogue chapters.

Yeah I have seen Aniplex's monsterous prices.
How they expect to make much business with prices like that in America I do not know.
But I guess it must work for them.

The prices they charge for a 26 episode season are what people expect to pay for a whole series of five complete seasons.
I just import most of the aniplex stuff i have. you can get 12 episode seasons for 20-30$ that way, but of course it requires you to have a player that can play them (the ps3 isn't hard to mod to change regions though)

Machikado Mazoku 1-4

This is pretty great so far. It totally flew under my radar but I guess thats what happens to a series when they go to HIDIVE jail. The gags in episode 3 and 4 were really good and even though I was iffy on the first episode, things really started to pick up soon after.

Though the side characters don't stand out much (aside from Lilith and Shamiko's mom rather), the main two have great chemistry with each other. Even though Shamiko is receiving all of the help, she's helping Momo cope with her past without realizing it. I'm waiting for when Momo leaves the magical girl life behind to join Shamiko on the dark side. Either way, I look forward to more of this wholesome friendship.

HOLY MOTHERLAND, Russian blind wife knows Kun-fu and took out the boss of this arc in one single move. Now this I didn't see coming.

This was fairly straightforward for an episode of PP S3 otherwise, which so far has been largely incompressible.

Can't tell if they are trying to shape him into some sort of final boss or unexpected ally, but it seems they want the audience to at lest root for him against the other two (Well, more like against the only one left now, uh)?

Stars Align Episode 9 EngDub
EMVuU18XUAA2eb7

Omg first time the drama actually made me cry, Tsubasa and his dad moments and everything afterwards like :( :( :( Glad the two are there for each other through their issues.

Never liked Nao much before, but his episode helped make him as bad as the parents.

Promised Neverland S1.

Well that was excellent. Now that is how you build tension and stakes for a beautiful payoff.

God Norman dying had me upset. The moment they almost went through with killing Ray I was about to just stop watching. Sigh, I wish Emma had been the one to go.

I can't wait to see the world expand a lot more next season hopefully.

I have really wondered why there has not been any continuation in SEED universe considering how wildly popular the series was. I mean I know there was movie incoming that got postponed indefinitely because the screen writer (wife of the director) got sick and eventually died but you would think they would just hire new people to do the job. Does Fukuda own some kind of rights to the series or what?
In the Gundam thread the consensus is more or less that they should expand on what Stargazer did. I'm aware there are a bunch of manga spin-offs that happen in Cosmic Era but I haven't read them so I don't know if any of them has what it takes to get made into anime.

This is easily the best Gundam series since OG Build Fighters by a country mile.
The Ender's Game reveal was great and I loved all the focus on how bad the main characters screwed the pooch.
I'm pretty excited to see what the second cour shapes up to be.

The fact that we don't have a super obnoxious lead makes it better than most Gundam. Episode 12 wouldn't have anywhere near the impact it does if the show didn't spend most of the cour with the characters in that world. There's also some earlier stuff that might pay off like Par's emotional trauma could be related to him potentially being handicapped in real life if he's in that preview like I think he is.

They've spent time establishing the characters, the world, making sure battles aren't just asspulls for the most part, and finally having real stakes.

Beastars - 11

I feel personally attacked, what the fuck was that?

Blade of the Immortal - 10-12

The most slept on show this season. Episode 11 is near perfect and characters i thought would just whiz by and be forgotten forever, I now cant wait to see how they grow and what their ultimate fates are.

The director(iirc) said months ago that the show is more about them coming together as a team than fighting threats.

The last part of episode 12 was so good. I got the chills when everybody showed up and the fight started.

The person who decided to give Blade of the Immortal to the director of Shigurui should get a raise. It is the best decision ever.

Iruma-Kun episode 1 English dub

Great casting. The only weird thing is the school song, which sung in English in the dub, doesn't match the Japanese subs which are displayed at the bottom of the screen (the subs/Japanese text are part of the video).

That's no reason to trap his friend's sister in the infirmary and then lie like four times and he even blamed his own bf. I could see if he apologized or was remorseful but he didnt even apologize to Shingo or An...inexcusable.

It is excusable. The guy is practically living PTSD with his mom. I think we should be mad at her. The kid clearly lives in fear of dealing with expectations and not having a voice.

That doesn't mean he should take it out on his classmates and not apologize. At the end of the day he had a choice on telling the truth or not, it wasn't his mom there, it was him. She's not the one bearing the guilt now, it is him.

The reason I like Stars Align is that all of that shitty parent behavior is stuff I've run across in my life. My mom has even worse stories from her time as a mentor/foster parent.

I think that's a lot to ask from middle schooler going through abuse. I think we should feel sorry for him feeling so cornered and insecure to do this. Looking down on him helps nothing and Maki clearly sees that.

maki just never hardly ever feels real, since he always solves and knows everything (apart from his emotional scene hugging a friend who was there for him, otherwise...)

i dont think his home life excuses what he did, you still bear responsibility for your actions especially that hurt, endanger, and inconvenience others. What if An woke up and freaked out cause she was in a locked room? What if Maki never confronted Nao? What if their practiced was totally cancelled, ruining everything for everyone especially after their week of NO practice?

I understand that taking responsibility is something he should do. But it's clear that ultimately being upset at him wouldn't help anything, he's as much a victim as the trapped little girl. I doubt his friends would be that upset, I would be mostly concerned about him.

My Hero Academia S4 - 10

This episode was pretty bad with rushing things like it was hard to follow as what was going on in that scene. Maybe director is saving that for better animation in the next few weeks, or idk.

A quick question for you Moogs, how do you have time to binge through so many series?

Sacrifices were made.

Might be the worst opinion I've ever read tbh.
Yeah that's just incorrect. Show is a love letter to the human spirit.

Sorry, I forgot to throw the writer they share under the bus too.

—————

Gabriel Dropout 1–12 + OVAs 1 & 2 [END]

Satania > this show, which probably wouldn't be anything without Satania or the studio behind it.

Dog & Scissors 1~12

I scrubbed through this out of curiosity. Welp.

Koufuku Graffiti 1–12 [END]

It isn't particularly strong in any way, even the food porn gets old real fast. Both the writing and the dining reach for what's neither here nor there—a full drama or actual pornography. The emotional moments are rather introverted for a work that pushes bonding between people. You can argue it's more show than tell on that respect, but no, it flat out tells you what profound feelings Ryou goes through all the time through her thoughts. In her head. Thanks, Okada... Ryou has a lovely voice that's maybe too soft for the scenes she commands too.

The ED is very smooth and focused, maybe too focused with its long cuts where not much is happening, but it's still fun to watch for the pleasant visuals and music.

Miru Tights 1–13 [END]

Homi > Ren > Yua. White tights for only one, brief instance left me sad. While I'm not a fan of the mature character designs either, everything looked top-notch.

One Room 1–24 + OVA [END]

Sister > Granddaughter > Childhood Friend > Neighbor. It got better at storytelling after time, but the PoV camera and silent protagonist without a body was awkward all the same.

Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara 1–24 [END]

Chiya was evil. Miton being abused and the transformations were among the most memorable qualities. Oh, and that weird episode where the overworked dad faces off against the giant labor rights monster? What was that about...

Ooya-san wa Shishunki! 1–12 [END]

The quick pace and dynamics are handled so well.

Serial Experiments Lain 1–13 [END]

How it comes together at the end makes the slog worthwhile. My childhood impression was easily overwritten by its thoughtfulness and atmosphere this time around.

logically 95% of anime is complete and utter garbage (like pretty much any form of entertainment)

if you have seen a number of good shows that number increases.... so if you have seen lots of good shows it becomes safe to say that 99% of stuff you haven't seen is complete and utter garbage.

so why bother trying something new when you can just rewatch Skip Beat again? :P

I know I'm one of only like 5 people in this thread that has seen Skip Beat and that's okay. It's not depressing that people don't love a great show, it's awesome because I'm one of the rare people who has seen an amazing show :P

Holy hell, an episode dedicated to discuss why being angry (and doing the seven deadly sins) sometimes is good and finding out how a teacher made a simple mistake with a very thorough analysis...
