I mean the closest window I can think of recently for a new major game is 3 months from reveal to launch for samus returns.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle launched 2 months after it was announced at E3 2017. Not a first party title, but it's a Mario game. And there were 4 months between the NSMBU announcement and the release. Not sure if we have any sales data on that one though.

What would it be placeholding? That date doesn't correspond to a Q1/Q2 start or any seasonal solstice of any kind. As a poster mentioned before, it does kick of Golden Week in Japan though.
