Anyone who started at midnight on release is technically on Day 4 because the game considers a new day to start at 5 or 6am. Alternatively, there are a lot of people who time travel by changing their system clock so they've advanced past the normal progression the average player would have right now.
I realized playing this game with a minimal reference to guides is really enjoyable. You discover something new everyday.
I have friends who try to power through their game on the first few days (sharing tips on time travel), getting a million bells, massively grinding like an MMO etc... but I guess it's different for everyone.

It's a nearly perfect clone of most washing machines here in Japan. Even the sound of the door locking.
Does anyone know if bamboo still behaves like digital kudzu (the whole invasion of your town if you don't dig up/uproot sprouts every day) or did they tone it down a notch? I had a bamboo town in ACNL but it was... so much work

Well looks like I'm gonna start over and delete 3 days worth of progress as my daughter was the first to join the island with her account and I played later becomming the second resident. I guess whoever starts first gets all the main island tasks and customization of the island. While accounts that join later get a gimped experience. Honestly why would they restrict you to 1 island per switch then gimp the other accounts that join.
My wife has been playing this the whole weekend, she's playing it now as I type this. She's having a good time.

Does the sell price stay the same for non-native fruit even once you've planted them on your island? I planted a bunch of cherry trees today thinking it would make me good money in the future but now I'm wondering.

I'm playing at my own slow pace so far:) Though I did just look up tips on those damn iron nuggets. I have 5 so far and I'm not quite that patient... waiting for the museum to open tomorrow is bad enough.
When I opened the gates, not quite knowing what I was doing, I did have one friend join from my friends list. That was neat. I then went and visited their island, which was waaaay more customized than mine was. Later on I realized they dropped a popcorn machine on my island. Now I need to send them a gift back...

I'm so glad you fruit ambassadors convinced me to get this game. I thought I was burnt out on AC. Nope.
If I were to visit someone's island in a different time zone, could I sell at their Nook's Cranny shop?
I have eyebrows on my character too, can't go back. Looks too weird without them now.And I thought I wasn't going to ever use the make up feature

Tom Nook's tent is still open 24/7, and the ATM to pay off your loan is there, not the shop!

Ya tbh, I was hoping for a new category since I think we've had the current ones since the start. It was time to add something new. But we actually lost paintings...
I know this a bit off topic, but what's the best app/service/utility to keep track of when something is in stock again? I've never played an Animal Crossing before and wish I had jumped on that bundle when it was available. The game looks like something I'd enjoy and I've been wanting a Switch for a while now.
So not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I hit the jackpot of mystery islands today when farming for iron nuggets.
First I saw an island full of rocks, but quickly found a tarantula. I caught it before noticing there was another tarantula just chilling there. Got bit by that one, so I ran back, and now there were 3 tarantulas!
Basically, this island had infinitely spawning tarantulas. So by the time I left...
Fully stocked on iron, and as many tarantulas as I could carry lol. I knew they'd be worth a lot, but was still surprised when I looked up their value. 8K each.
Pretty solid haul for only about a half hours worth of work!
